Hi, just thinking of how to add more atmosphere in FH2! (1) It would be cool if explosions/20mm add (loads) more saturation and if close enough impact from MG's as well! (2) dirt/blood sticks on the screen so if a grenade goes off 4m (or less) away from you then mud/blood will skick on the screen, or an Mg opens up on u and hit a tree just in front of you dirt sticks on the screen (like debris going in your eyes). thinking use the script from the red direction markers when you get hit and edit, so for dirt color the markers brown add more of them make them smaller and different shapes, Must be possable? (3) BF2 engine uses debris with physics but duz not put them in meny of the explosions and when they are used there set at 120-250 which is no where near a nuf debris for a 20mm let a lone a missile, and there set ridged, no randomness has been added to the debris (say if the emiterspeed is 67, if the randomspeed is under 25 i would say thats pritty bad for debris it wont look right i would set it at 50 randomspeed) anyway lot more quality debris! wat do u guys think?:beer: :D

okay the screen is supposed represent ur eye sight right? well i dont think blood and dirt should stick to it... maybe like in a vehicle it could happen. but i have an idea... bf2 has got like flashbangs... does anyone know wut the effect looks like on that... i dont have it... but does ur screen go black and u cant hear? cuz if thats the case... maybe it could be applied to explosions and stuf... if ur like right next to an arty shell... u could like lose ur hearing for a few seconds... but i dont know... i dont have BF2 yet

1) We probably will see more effects but not too many to bring down the avarage FH gamingsystem to its knees. The devs will try to stick to the same requirements as BF2 has for hardware.
2) The devs don't want to turn this into Quake III, so don't expect large quantities of gore. A blurry vision is planned though when an explosion happens close to you (see Mr Gibs his posts quoted in the GD "Information thread").
3) Same as Q1.

(2) also thinking add debris on the screen, like there stuck on the inside of the monitor so its like its in your eyes, your runing and a MG opens up on you, you get debris on the screen, but you can just see where your going, or a grenade goes of, or an vehicle drives passed you mabe you in a jeep (going slow) and a apc drives passed you. thinking use the script/code from the direction markers that show where you've been hit an change it (edit it), got to be possable? (3) the BF2 debris have physics, but there not implemented in meny of the explosions and when they are there ridged not random I kno cuz ive spent a decade changing (editing/modding) them, eg: say the emiterspeed on on debris is 28-35 (which is to low should be about 60-90 if the gravalty is -11-20) the randomspeed is set at say 5-11 that way to low, 28 emiterspeed = 21 randomspeed or 35 = 26.25 / 60=45 / 90=67.5 so 70-75% random, not 15-25% random like BF2 offers. (4) lastly more debris when the explosions have them at all, so eg: the emitfrequency in BF2 debris is set to: 40-250 should be: 950-2000. So(LOADS) more debris. Anyway wat do you think? :D :beer: :cool:

I´m all for adding more debris, longer lasting wrecks and all kinda stuff that adds atmosphere, but i fear that it wouldnt be good for the ppl with average or low end PC´s. If it is added, it should NOT be able to be turned of for systems with low specs.
You see it with the shadows already, you think youre hiding in a dark spot and then get killed by someone 200 yards away who´s turned off his shadows.
That should not be possible with debris or wrecks at all.

1)As long as these loads of explosions will be realistic it won't do anything bad to mod, will it?:D 2)Have you been playing Brothers in Arms?:p I wouldn't mind seeing such effects. 3)On what are you baseing these calculations? Remember that there are other forces acting on debris after being thrown into air, not only the gravity. If combineing them all the speed is much different taht it would be with gravity and weight only. Tough I'm not sure if Bf2 engine supports all cinetic force and dinamics and their aftermaths. Besides it looks like a spam since there is no way you could post these in two forums in different times by mistake.
