I was just thinking that to make quite a few maps better (e.g. Berlin Outskirts) and to solve lag problems due to many objects, single peice defensive network models seem to be missing from FH. These defence models also allow for tunnel systems. Here is a good example of a large single peice defensive network: ?id=2012

Wow... I am thinking of downloading BF1918 now.. I never really liked it the first time I played it in their first patch but now it looks juicy especially with the moving artillery

But in many situations you are defending, and it is better to have them waste their men on your fortifications. Think of the Japanese islands with true dug in positions for the japanese, well thought out defesive positions (with the much needed japanese feild guns) can more then make up for the Americans having better equipment.

Exactly, if there was no point in setting up fixed defenses, like concrete bunkers and MG nests, nobody would set them up. In the Pacific war, fixed fortifications were rather common, so let's have'em.

I also think that we should have way more entrenchments in all sorts of infantry maps anyway.

I think Prokhorovka's west defensive positions have a couple of trenches with MGs deployed which need to be used more. But I've never seen anyone using them besides the Flak 88 or the Pak40 because the problem is those that attack the city mostly are Armored Vehicles and not Infantry. In the future it could be an idea to add stationary PTRD AT Rifles on the place of the MGs (DP)?
