Real-BadSeedwell i was thinking 1 per customer, and it disappears when the object placer dies, or gets a certain distance from the object.

If those restrictions were on it then I'd be for deployable sandbags. Like LordKhaine, I immediately thought of the deployable sandbags in DC and how easy they were to abuse. I remember on 73 Eastings people would put sandbags in front of the exit to a spawnpoint in a tent so that people couldn't leave when they spawned. The horror, the horror.

But...think about it...spawn as a banzai charge and...the hamburger, the hamburger... :-)

Why did the post about massive long lines of sandbags instantly remind me of Command & Conquer?

well also they wouldnt be so big , you couldnt just jump over them anyway. im only thinking a couple sandbags, not a whole sandbag wall or anything. but just a sandbag or two on eachside of the mg itself, so when prone and in the gun, it protects you. could even make it part of the deployed mg itself actually. so when you set down the gun, its also sets down a couple sandbags on either side.

p.s. any deployed object can be used to block stuff as you discribe already ingame, not just sandbags. the trick to fixing this is, to make it so infantry can either pass through it, or jump over it.

You cant jump over a sandbag wall if someone put it in a staircase (just another possible abuse).

Thats why all deployable objects should be destructable. If some smacktard blocks the stairs with it a grenade or two should rectify the problem.

But than again those grenades are 'preciousss' in a mod like FH and my guesses are not every class will have grenades. Oh well we will see when the time comes how this feature will be implented eventually cause there is a lot to argue about.

Then what would be the point of having sandbags?

'[tRMad Mac']Then what would be the point of having sandbags?

Because you want "something" rather than "someone" to stop bullets. Even if "something" is destroyed in the process, "someone" behind it will survive for a bit longer. Think of it like a motorcycle helmet--if you fall on it, the helmet is toast, but your head isn't.
