Would it be possible to place MGs in various locations? What I mean is when it is deployed, it would be positioned on whatever surface is in its path so that the user wouldn’t be forced to lie down at all times, but may stand if it deployed at his height level, crouch if it is deployed at waist level and of course lie if it is deployed on the ground. I realize that objects in FH are made anthropometric, so it is rare to see obstacles that are neither ‘crouch’ high, ‘stand’ high’ or flat down. For such things as rubble which wouldn’t make good deployment spots, the mg could drop and simply be picked up again to signify that it cannot be deployed there…Of course, this would mean MGs would be deployed directly in front of users and not 10feet off like in FH1 – So players are sure where they are putting the thing… Besides I hated deploying MGs in Fh1 and having to walk to it under fire.
I like the idea of the MG deployed on surfaces like window openings, sandbags, barrel drums, etc as another means of use rather than having the only option to rest it on the ground and going prone. But I do feel it would be hard to code.
This has been discussed. Im not sure, but I think it was not possible with this engine.
Actually i tried to deploy .30 cal exactly out of the trench on Wake Island so i could hide inside the trench and the Japs would get a nasty surprise at the landing beach however the damn MG dissapperared and i needed to fight with my pistol:mad: (no i couldnt pick MG up again). The only MG-s deployed on windows or sandbags can be done ONLY by mappers:D (that's just damn shame) so we probably need to deal with only ground deployable MG-s again but still better than nothing:nodding:
