I was wondering if destroyable bunkers or more specifically MG nests would be a good idea or unecessary? I was thinking what role the AT rifles would play seeing how for the most part they were ineffective against armor. AT rifles were relegated to Anti-material roles fairly quickly with the new armor taking the fields. So in addition to killing the trucks and light armor why not give them more usage by making MG nests destroyable? (as its one of the roles they took on during the war) Now I'm not saying nerf the sandbags so tanks can pwn! Maybe just the section where stationary MGs are mounted on sandbag walls and such? It doesn't have to be very wide maybe the size of a footpath through it once you blow it up. And if the Devs want to go so far as to make it respawnable it's okay with me... not that my approval mattered anyways. Summary: make stationary MGs and a piece of wall infront of them one unit that can be destroyed by AT Rifles or anything else practical.:)

Now this is a great idea, Fox. infact, i even have a nice picture of a bunker with a few .55 Boys ATR holes. The picture is kind of big though. :) Although, i think that the entire bunker/pillbox/etc needs to be penetrable by ATR's. Not just where the MG is located. Same with sandbags. I dont know if thats actually possible, or if it causes alot of lag, though.

I hope there is realistic penetration for all buildings/objects. Making destructable buildings or even parts of buildings destructable may not be possible but I hope some small arms (.30 and .50 cal) can penetrate those little wood huts or canvas tents which currently bullets just bounce off of like they were made of 3" thick steel.

Yes i hope so aswell, its very frustrating when a guys can survive a tank round inside a tent.

Well, the only way I see whole bunkers being destroyable is either A) make them stationary vehicles that you plant in a hole in the ground with a destruction model. B) make them oversized destroyable objects codded like say barrels in BF2 and be sure the explosion of it's destruction is capable of blowing up any MGs you have floating there not actually attached. The small section of sandbag where the MG mounts was the idea I got for having a target large enough to hit at distance and was capable of being universally placed anywhere in a map. Meh, just a thought.

Destroyable bunkers would be awesome, even the concrete ones. Perhaps the mounted bunker mg's could be made to be more deadly.(greater damage, accuracy, ect) When a bunker gets destroyed(by a tank or appropriate bomb), perhaps engineers could repair it via a related vehicle only they could use.(bulldozer, ect.) It would make for an interesting addtion to gameplay.

Perhaps be able to make certain shots effective against decreasing a bunkers health?

A shot from a tank wouldn't completely destroy a bunker, but a direct hit from 200mm cannon from a warship should completely wreck a bunker.

Anything related to the interaction with the environment should be included if possible. Great idea too though,.
