I think I have a really cool idea (I mentioned it before briefly). Everyone feel free to disagree or offer suggestions.
If enemy vehicles are locked, it might be important to disble your opponents panzer when taking over a flag if enemy vehicles are locked.
Destroying a moving tank or a a flying plane is obviously a bit tricky for infantry. But destorying or disabling emptyvehicles should be relatively easy. It occurs to me that disabling an enemy tank would simply require throwing a grenade down the barrel, I think disabling enemy cars or planes would be even easier (shooting out the tires). This should be easy for any class to do.
Even if it's not posible to "shoot out tires" , I think conceptually it should be easy for any class to destroy empty enemy planes and cars, and for anyone with free grenades to destory empty enemy armor.
On a similar note, I hate the repairomatics from BF1942. It was often very advantageous to sit on a repair station and do your tank battling while constantly gaining life. This would also make it hard for people to blow you up with satchel charges or bazookas if you had enough HP. I don't have a problem with repairing vehicles, but it should not be possible in combat.
I think a good idea (if it's possible) would be to make it so you cannot repair your vehicle until let's say at least 30 seconds after your last damage. This would allow you to stop a tank from healing in a tank battle.
Either that or make repairing REALLY slow. Basically make it a BAD tactic to sit on a repair station in combat, if only for the reason that you are a fixed target.
well, you over-simplify it (grenade in the barrel will at most scratch the rifling), but yah.
I like this idea a lot, if possible. If doable, wouldn't letting infantry cause disabling damage to vehicles (I guess we're talking about tanks and heavy halftracks here, mainly) also be generally useful against tanks (assuming the infantry can actually get at the tank?)
Possibly done by drastically reducing the health of the vehicle until occupied by a player? ie one satchel kills an empty tank where 2-3 is required for an active one
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! IDEA!!! when nobody is in the tank, the top hatch is open. drop a satchel or some TNT inside and CABLAMMO!!!
OOoh Kading I sentence you to crawl through 30 discussions about dropping satchels or grenades into tank hatches as punishment for bringing that up.

Yeah, but he said when its empty, not occupied. Complete new agrument there Fuzzy. 8) I like Kadings idea, a grenade down a barrel would need some more explossives to do some real damage to the tank. I think the OP was thinking like what they did in Band of Brothers when they put the TNT and grenades in the barrels of the 88s to spike them.
yah, the grenades were just to detonate the TNT. but a satchel dropped inside a tank would set off the ammunition, thus gutting the tank.
Me likes the idea. Dunno if its possible however (I sure hope so).
