Dee-JaýJust have less flags you can actually spawn at. That would motivate people to stay alive since they´d need longer to get back into the action.

Seems like the best solution to me to.

I dont like this idea, what if i end up getting spawnkilled 5 times in a row, or die 7 times trying to attack/defend a flag without managing to kill anyone myself, im gonna get booted for getting owned? sheesh.. Same goes for the flag idea.. no thanks :uhm: Even less people will actually try to cap flags, camping gets you killed less easily!

Having death disrupt your position sounds better than a long spawn counter. So instead of "Damn, 45 seconds to spawn" it's "damn, I have to get my teammates together and try to retake that point, setup defenses, ect" Makes medium length strategy more important.

If you'd read what i wrote, you will see me suggesting that this score doesn't go below 0, and it will also not effect your teamwork score.

But look at vanilla BF 2 for example. Its the oppisite extreme ! BF 2 maps have so many fucking flags that nobody bothers to defend. And why should they ? The next flag, and hence the next scores are only a cat jump away. To most people thats far more attractive than having to wait and defend a position. They´d rather go get the enemy not wait for him to get you. But if you recall El Alamein in BF 2, people there did actually try to defend a position. After all, with just 3 flags in an empty open desert there was nowhere else for a soldier to go. And note, I said to have less flags people can actually spawn at. I´m not saying that FH 2 should have less flags in general because as you might remember, R2R introduced flags you can cap, but not spawn at.

El Alamein, that rings a bell. Yes, I used to defend all the positions I took in singleplayer and on the LAN's in school. Man what good memories you have from that map. :) Lesser flags would be good. Strike at Karkand is filled to the edge with flags. It's just like Dee-Jaý said, ''BF 2 maps have so many fucking flags that nobody bothers to defend''. The best example for this is Strike at Karkand, wich is also my favourite BF2 map.

Kharkand has enough choke points that the amount of flags isnt really a problem However, the same cant be said for most of the other maps in the game. My biggest gripe with BF2 is the map layouts. 1942 didnt have this problem.

The flag/person ratio in BF2 is definitely off. The game is a lot more fun with 64 people on a 32 map. I blame the lack of defenders on the BF2 flag cap system. With 2 or more people the flag turns so quickly you hardly have time to rush back and defend it, and forget about it if a chopper flies in.

Unfortunately by making some flags non-spawnable you have to grab a ride in a vehicle or walk which just means less combat going on = less fun. I am not saying the game should be fast paced, but the current pacing is pretty good.

Should a life last longer? In a perfect world yes, but not if its traded for fun. It would be awesome on close city maps though.
