Smith_;3337301I sure hope there not a menu kit. It would just end up being the stupid 15 year old with the fastest computer always getting it and camping 1/64th of an inch off the map boundary not paying attention to the game. So when hes the last person left he dosnt relize it and nobody can find him. So we end up sitting there for the last 15min of the round..I normally go and use the bathroom and get a glass of water at that time and come back to watch the clock run out.

I somewhat agree. I think sniper rifles should be hidden, but in plain view. There are more importatn things to put on the spawn menu, but really, theres no wazy you can garuntee the proficiency of the user without some sort of America's Army system.

You can't Judge a book by lookin at it's cover :smokin: Also on some maps in FH it takes some instinct or luck to find the scoped kit.(Counterattack,Karkov..) Because there are not much sniper kits,u may also spend lots of time givin targets, and therefor stay hidden for 2 minutes to make the target lest! So FH snipin is not al about poppin Weazels. I recently finnaly discovered the Bombing Kits on Sector 318...First I found the B-17 Kit,then I found the Stuka Kit.... , then I find an Arado Kit:uhoh: Greetings :don:

Jetro;33347141. Well a scope impedes your vision for one. 2. WIP 3. Snipers will most likely be pickup only so, no not everyone will be a sniper.

Hmm, im confused, becase I think they are making the sniper kit a class, just only a certain number of people will have it. probly like 3 each team. :uhm:

3 each team?! That's a lot! Anyways, why would they make it a selectable class? The sure are lot's of more important classes to do... Assault, scout, support, AT, medic, engineer, tanker, pilot etc.

Erm, regarding nerfed sniper rifles; the No4 sniper is teh archnerf. I swear, sometimes I feel like the thing has this 10 round magazine because THAT'S THE NUMBER OF HEADSHOTS IT TAKES TO KILL ANYONE. BLAM "oh, vhot is zis, ein scratch?" BLAM "From afar?" BLAM "Ist es ein pesky Englisher sniper!" BLAM "Hm, I vill go find him" BLAM "La la la, I'm spazieren over to where he is hiding" BLAM "I am getting varmer, ja?" BLAM "Ah, look, zere you are, mein little englisher" BLAM "I am seeink yooo!" BLAM "Oh dear, you are puttink another little dent in my helmet?" BLAM "Ja, now playtime ist over." Fuzzy: "Fuckityfuck, reloadreloadRELOAD, BITCH..." *Stab*

As for removing your eye from the scope while pulling the bolt, I believe von Mudra posted a few videos with his K98 a while back proving pretty conclusively (to my surprise, I'll admit) that you could fire and reload without removing your eye from a rifle sight (and without smacking yourself in the head with the bolt.)

Reload a bolt action rifle without removing eye from sight? Maybe with open sights, but if you keep looking through a scope while you try to reload I think it feels very un natural and you get off target. Maybe it is personal but it is just natural for me to lower the rifle slightly when I reload and look at the target with naked eye. When you try to reload while looking through a scope the gun moves around quite a bit so your eye does not stay lined up with the scope, in effect you cant really see anything through the scope unless you have a VERY smooth bolt and reload very carefully.

Maybe it is ok to keep the iron sights up for bolt action guns with open sights but not scope. Personally I would like to see all bolt action guns have to lower sights to reload.

Lobo stated earlier that it would either be limited in the menu or placed on the map as a pickup if that doesn't work out.

I tried this with a scoped Winchester of some sort (I'm not hugely up on civilian/hunting rifles; I couldn't really bring myself to shoot at cute little fluffy creatures of the woodlands) at a rifle shop--it takes getting used to but it's definitely doable. Part of it is the length of the scope; remember, too, that unless you have a rubber socket in back, you're not going to have your eye jammed against the scope anyway.

Here's the video von Mudra posted in the "Bolt Action Reload Animation" thread a while ago to prove that it is possible to reload while continuing to aim:

Note that I agree with you entirely--it feels odd and unnatural for me to do so and I always take my rifle down to reload.

FuzzyBunny;3340732you're not going to have your eye jammed against the scope anyway.

That was a, painful and embarrassing, lesson I learned the first time I shot a gun with a scope. Second was that 12 gauge shotguns firing slugs kick a lot. Had a black eye for about a week.
