I don't no if this thread hat been look at (can you say that on english:) ), so i will psot it now.. In bf42 the divebombing sucked, because the bomb dind't droped relative to the plane's direction, as i wolud in the real life.. so if you triede to divebomd you would actualy get hit by your own bomb. I don't no if this thing is fixed en bf2 (you aren't divebombing wiht jets any way). plz fix this.. some facts(yes lets call them facts) about divebombing: + when you divebomb the bomb (and hit the earth) the bomb will get extra power because its "drilled" in to the earth (so it can be built a bigger pressure), and when gunpowder gets under more pressure, its get more power +divebombing gets you more precistion if -you have to go high op in the air and be come an easy target (:deal: ) Comments ?

I don't agree that a bomb is more effective the deeper it drills into the ground before exploding.

Only specialist bombs designed to pierce armour, pierce concrete, or crater runways are designed that way.

Because the deeper a bomb drills into the ground, the less amount of blast and fragments that get directed to the sides, and the more of the blast and fragments that get directed upwards.

(Put a grenade on flat ground and stand people next to it, the grenade will kill them. Put the same grenade down a hole and stand the people next to the hole, the grenade probably won't kill any of them since all the fragments will be blown straight upwards, vertically.)

A bomb designed to kill people and destroy vehicles should explode immediately it makes contact with the ground - not drill into the ground and then explode, otherwise all it will do is make a crater.

I think you are actually more difficult to hit if you're divebombing from high altitude because noone will see you coming. The only drawback I can think off is that it takes a bit longer than horizontal bombing.

Yeah, being high in the sky makes you nearly invincible, not easy target. The only tricky part is the climbing, do that above your base, and you have less chance to get shot ;).

Obviously, you aren't much of a pilot if you can't even divebomb in FH.

The problem with you seems that you are pushing your joystick forward AFTER you've released your bomb. Try pulling the joystick instead......

What is actually the perfect attack run. How do you do it... Versus -AA -any other target but onder AA protection Or what is the best tactik when in a torp/dive plane for evading fighters. Level bombing or dive bombing?

In battle of britain i always get so easely destroyed by AA, I know that you have to dive bomb to evade AA but sometimes i think AA is so OP, one shot and its over.

Well, I'm not a good pilot by any means, but I'll answer anyway.

Attacking flak guns:

1. Know exactly where the gun is. 2. Use the terrain to screen your approach if possible (put a hilltop, forest or buildings between you and the gun before starting your run. Ideally he shouldn't be able to see you until you are almost at the bomb release point. 3. Fly as low as you can, and as fast as you can. 4. Be accurate at dropping the bomb accurately. (much practice required!) 5. Even if he kills you after you drop the bomb, at least you'll get him too!

Evading fighters:

As a torpedo plane, fly very low and very slow. So low that the fighter pilot gets worried about smashing into the sea himself, and so slow that he overshoots you within seconds. It's hard for him to fly as slowly as you can. Steep, slow turns toward the fighter can help if timed correctly, he'll overshoot you quicker - but make sure he's close before you turn, otherwise he'll get a good burst at your wings.

As a dive bomber, if you're flying low, do the same. If you're high, dive until you're low. Don't give him a chance to come at you from underneath or you're dead.

On Battle of Britain, as the Germans, I fly low to avoid flak. Below the cliff level is good, the guns can't hit you down there, or around the rear of the map where there are hills to hide behind. Got to be careful of the barrage baloons though. The only other way is to fly really, really high so the gunners can't see you because of distance and clouds - but it's hard to bomb when you can't see the target.
