Alright, I really hope something can be done about this but right now the MG34 is Extremely good in CQ combat.. Far better then the tommy gun or the mp40. Alls you need to do is dive while trying to shoot. They cant shoot you because your flying in the air.. And you're shooting them while your flying in the air. Please if at all possible make it so you cant shoot while going to prone. I think this should be the case for all weapons... But Especially the MG34. Its not even like they people who are doing it are exploiting a glitch.. they're simply trying to get down to the ground so they can fire their weapon. Just so happens you can fire it while your in the air. I hope something can be done about this.

Yeah..thats the oh so quite so common lame-o BF2 dolphin diving. I don't know if it's hardcoded into the engine, but it's definatly annoying. The only way they might be able to do this is if they cant shoot unless aiming down the sight, but thats restrictive and probably not possible :\

That is not dolphin diving, dolphin diving was jumping and going prone while mid-air, they disabled that in one of the patches.

maybe definitions have changed over the years -- we used to say dolphin diving was diving prone and firing immediately (at least on the FH1 servers I used to play on years ago). Then when BF2 came out, it had it where you could dive, hit the ground, hit the jump button and bounce up in the air and go prone again and do it repeatedly so it looked like you were jumping while in the prone position--- we used to call that fish flopping.

In FH for BF1942 this problem was solved with making the MGs inaccurate like hell after you changed your stance. You could'tn even hit someone 1 meter in front of you. It took them a few seconds to regain the accuracy. Can't this be done in FH2 also? And the Brengun is too accurate while being fired standing, crouching and running.

I support this request. Makes the game so much better without these kind of arcadish effects.

I disagree. if MG should be handicapped to this, then Bren should be disabled to fire from the hip. they are both LMG for god's sake

Maybe the devs can look at the battlefield 2142 code which makes dolphin diving counter productive, if it can be made to work for battlefield 2, proning will still increase overall accuracy and stability, while incurring a serious short term inaccuracy penalty.

The bren has rof of 500 rpm MG34 has rof of 900 rpm Thats a VERY big difference, I think the mg34 should be allowed to be fired from the hip and crouching.. But have way more kick to it then the bren does in the full auto mode. The bren can be shoulder mounted, way easier then the MG34.. Partly because its alot lighter. To disable that wouldnt be realistic and it would kinda be silly.. They are both LMG's but very different.. But it would be nice to see the MG34 capable of firing from all positions. I know if im carrying that gun around and I hafta turn a corner.. Im not going to dive down to shoot him lol.

Well, considering that the MG34 can be fired while standing (granted, probably not in constant full auto, and with a totally inefficient accuracy, but when a guy is standing 3 meters away from you, it's kinda hard to miss, but you would be very vulnerable as you would not be able to move while firing).

I guess firing the MG while crouching would do.
