Flippy WarbearNo one forces to make maps with those in... Your silly now :)

i *know* im silly, but would those maps be realistic without those in all together? The russians seemed rather fond of their tanks during the war, i doubt they would go into a whole new theatre without them.

I've got a book with a picture of 20 or so T-34/85's in a column in Manchuria, that's more than enough to destroy the entire Japenese inventory of tanks! :naughty: The CBI theatre should be included. There were four factions fighting (five if you count India): Britain, China, Japan and the USA.

'[SYN hydraSlav']There used to be a map like that.... worst map ever created (not sure, i think it was in the map pack)

Was the name of the map something like Hailar? I think I remember it... it lasted at least 3 or 4 minutes before the crushing soviet victory. At least the japanese had Panzerfausts (or Shrecks?), now they would have those allmighty AT-grenade and those knee mortar (for the IS-2 of course..:D ). I think we need more asian maps.. with bicycles :)

well the Russian vs Japanese conflict in 1945 was pretty much one sided: japs fielded elite infantry units but the soviets had even better: their Ostfront vets... Add to it better equipment and you understand how they managed to wipe out a full army in really short time.

Maybe a Russian vs Jap in the early war period: T-26, BT-5 & co. vs Ha-go and Chi-ha ? It sure would be interesting to have something else than small isles to fight on, on the Pacific theatre...

Yeah, I don't see why everyones is so interested in a Soviet-Japanese map. The Soviets didn't even fight the Japanese in WW2 until after the first atomic bomb was dropped. Even then, Manchuria was more of a land grab than anything else.

I would like to see a map based on Khalkin Gol River only because it has precedence on events in WW2.

I would also like to see a map based on the Soviet Invasion of a island in 1945 where the Japanese inflicted very heavy casulties on the Soviet landing troops, begins with a S but I will have to look it up.

IIRC also involved one of the last aerial kills by the Soviet Air Force when 2 P-63 Kingcobra's intercepted 2 Ki-43 Hayabusa (Oscar) and one of the Hayabusa's was shot down. This is also the only officially documented air combat of the P-63 in WW2.

I say go with the Atlantic theater there you got the British, Germans, japanese, Italians, and French. Italy had a rather big navy and you could do the scuttleing of the French fleet that would be a fun map. Plus You would get the attacks by the British on the Bismark, and the Italian Attacks on the French, and British fleets. Would be a good way to show that the japanese and US were not the only fleets in the water fighting, and you never hear mutch about the massive Italian fleet the brits had to fend off.
