First off I would like to say this mod has great looks and feel, but it is lacking in the effects dipartment. For one Tank shells still make yellow explotions, and for another so do bullets? I know this is this way to keep lag down, but if you look at DC_Final they got all kinds of cool looking effects that are vary realistic and don't cause any lag. So I would like to see even better looking effects for Tank shells, bullets, and artillery, and plane bombs. Tank shells for whatever reason should make big booms, and have powerfull looking explotions, bullets should kick up durt and smoke; but not so mutch that it's not realistic, artillery needs to make the bigest booms in the game, as well as bombs need to screem when they come down on you. I don't know about you all but I think the bomb screems from old BF don't do the bombs good, they are too soft, and you can't hear them from vary fare. Tank rounds need to be lowder, and we should be able to hear them from pritty fare away. We should also be able to hear artillery come down on us with that tarrifying wine.

Its probably all in the works. Effects will probably come after they finish off more important work like getting some more vehicles etc in game. As for the sounds I thought they do have a new sound guy in the mod team but they arrived too late to add any sound improvements to .65. So maybe in .66 we will get some more sound fixes & improvements.

Tank shells are already really loud. And I don't think many bombs really screamed that that loud. Besides, lots of the tanks are fireing AP shells which don't make that big explosions on impact. I remember the first screen shots FH ever released, among them was some very large muzzle flash on a battleship ment to show how much more realistic it looked.

Actually great effects on the sounds and visual side greatly enhance the feel of the gameplay without changing anything else.

Merciless' addon has proven this to me. While Vanilla was interesting in the beginning it became old very fast. Everbody notices how borng and unrealistic it is but with Merciless' it became a whole other game. I played it just for the looks and sounds, the effects.

FH gameplay is what BF should have been in the first place (while there is still much room more improvement).

I do agree, effects seem to be missing with FH. Until then, Ill just turn up the volume really loud and have Saving Private Ryan play in the background! Mmm... Dolby Digital...

hahahahaha, why do you guys always whine about things like this? just believe in the devs and enjoy the mod, they have eyes and ears like you do, don't they? Just wait and enjoy the mod.

the fallschirmjager mod looks nice, but you get those effects at the expense of your fps.

yea they had more stuff come in early version with the effects but they had to tone it down for lagg. THose effects are pretty nice though, so it more of a matter of doin thing that look good without hogging to much resourses.

The 50 cal effect is pretty nice, thats a good improvement over vannila, and the tracers are pretty nice too. THey also improved the dusting up effect when you hit dirt so its more like dusty then smokey. The smoke trail on rockets weapons could probaly be improved though, the dcf smoke trails are very nice that way.

well the team should see if they can get the guys who did the effects for DC_Final that has to have the best missile trails ever, and the coolest explotions. I read they looked at real videos of the weapons shooting/hiting things then made the effects, and they got it all realy optimized, ask them for some help and we could have the best effects ever. for Sounds I was talking about the explotions the shells make, not the shots you hear from the tank cannon, and the bombs do screem, I just think it would make people think about charging that open field with screeming bombs falling down on you. My idea is less yellow and more ornage, and red. More smoke, and make it 3-D like in DC, plus the lag can be gone for good if you optimize each effect, yes this takes longer but it would make the mod much more fun.
