While fun at first, all the knifing in the game is getting both boring and unrealistic imo. They (including shovels and katanas of course) are grossly overpowered now, and has added an arcadish dimension to the game that I for one do not like very much.. - I had a guy lying on the ground in front of me spin around (after i shot him twice with a garand) and jabbing me in the ankles killing me instantly. - A guy comes running at me..I pull my pistol and shoot him straight in the chest, before I can fire my second shot I'm dead from one jab with his knife..(knife owning pistol, how is that for balance ?) - I was even killed in a knifefight by a guy facing away from me..he was actually running into a wall and I was behind him ?? Not to mention that Pavlov is completely ruined..I seriously doubt anyone charged that house armed with a knife. Knifes were used as they are supposed to before..as a last resort. We also had "real" knifefights, where people chose to fight each other with knifes as a true test of skill. Those fights were respected (mostly) and often other players would pause and watch it..such a fight could last a while and you could actually be good at it..now its just "charge and stab", just get close enough (which with the katana seems like several meters) and swing - arcardish imo. I suggest you make the katana like knifes/shovels are now, and return knife/shovel to what it was before. - Apart from this and the changes in crawl/walk speed, 0.7 rocks !!! I'm very impressed by all the stuff that was fixed and improved...great great work devs.

I agree, its becoming stupid, knives were not used like melee weapons in such a fashion. I vote NERF, impliment proper bajonets or pull knves back to their pre .7 state please. :nodding:

Yes!The new knife code really overpowered the knifes. In a game like this CQ combat isnt that easy and the knifes make it worst. I liked where knifes toke skills...

Knifing didn't take any skills in the old version, it was just plain luck. Also, running around in a circle for a minute trying to knife another player wasn't exactly realistic either...

Have you ever been stabbed with a 3 inch blade in the chest? No, because you would be dead. Knifing is realistic...the thing that is unrealistic is that fact that when you are shot in real life you tend to not stay standing and shooting your guns at people. IE: If you get shot in the kneecap your not going to run up to someone and plunge a knife into thier heart. Also, if you get hit by any bullet at all you would tend to fall down or take a knee. It hurts.

Next time you have a three inch blade, try running by your friend and stabbing them!

Its not that hard...

No doubt that would hurt..but how a guy lying on the ground, or another facing a wall is able to hit my chest baffles me a bit..furthermore knifes dont have crosshairs like a pistol or a rifle, so its instant deadly precision like no other weapon has..I had to wait a sec to fire my pistol, which was long enough for my opponent to close in on me, once I fired, my 1 shot to the chest did nothing..the "knifer" doesnt have to aim at all, apparently he hits with 100% accuracy and always a deadly hit, not right imo. Would anyone chose knife over a pistol in real life..don't think so..LAPD handing in their sidearms for Bowies or whatever..not very likely. And yes it did take skill before, that is the point exactely..maybe those that felt the knives where useless then, just didnt have it :naughty:

He he you should have seen me in the old version with a knife, you'd be crying bloody murder that's for sure ;P , now it's even easier then before, but I don't have any complaints against that :p

Thats all irrelevant, knives were not used the way they are now in FH. People used their rifles to bash people's head in when they got close, when they missed they did not take their bajonets out to then pounce on the enemy and knife them. At most they were used when they sneaked around..

The realistic thing would be to remove the knife melee action all together.

I like it how it is just now.

You can literally own 3 or 4 guys in a row without even losing any health - it's awesome
