Creighton W. Abrams jr.bollocks, you're supposed to take out the knife if its the only thing left and not using it instead of a pistol or rifle

And if you're sneaking around not trying to make a ruckus, and because it's what you happen to have in your hand to hit the other guy with (lacking rifle butts and bayonets).

Im seeing the jump-prone-knife thing more and more, its like freaking BF2 all over again with these knives.

Dont get me wrong, im having fun with the knves, but its not in the spirit of FH to have riflers taking eachother on with their blades after they both miss, its not realistic in the least. Im hoping that it wont be like this in FH2, it would make me a sad, sad raptor.

ah the loveley rifle dance. first invented in late 2001 because by great gamer.... on battle isle its the worst. there were guys just run through the camp stabbing everyone (japanese) trying to get the with garand can be run though.

If you have a semi-auto rifle (or MG/SMG) and you're letting a guy with a knife come close to you, you've got a problem beyond knives being overpowered.

At least in the Jap maps, they're using swords, which, I hate to say, _do_ have a bit of range and greater damage area to them. Bonus points if you double right-click before sashimi-ing someone for the BANZAI! *slash* effect.

I cant wait to pull the banzai move, but i think i will wait for FH2 when there is an actual jungle to hide in.. i request they put a ninja kit in the mod with ninja stars, explosives and a big sword.

I know I haven't been on these forums forever, due to school and such. But I must say something here. Nerf IT! I shot a guy 3 times in the chest with an MP40 on Pegasus, and he knifed me, while bunnyhopping around me so fast, I couldn't even see him.

I think the knifes currently replaces the bayonets.That's how I see it.

*bump* Would like to hear what the devs think..Lobo should have an opinion, I know I did a bunny jump knifing on him a while ago..1H1K mid air totally stupid thing. Apparently this isn't important to very many players, just like the changes in crawling speed doesnt seem to bother people. For me those changes have had a pretty big impact on the whole infantry part of the game. I play mainly infantry and always have, and I think it has become both less fun and less realistic with 0.7 Great that we have Panzer III, ironsights and so on..but why these changes, I dont remember seeing people asking for slower crawl speed and a ridiculously overpowered knife. So why change something that wasnt broken. Please put it back to pre 0.7 settings (both crawling and knifes), the changes did not improve the game in any way. Of course you should be able to instantly kill someone with a knife, especially if you sneak up on him from behind, but if it cant be done in a realistic way, without overpowering the melee weapons in every other aspect..leave it for FH2 or whatever..dont ruin the whole CQ balance in the game just to achieve one thing. As for crawling speed. I've timed some distances in the game..and I'll post screenshots if I have to. But anyone with a watch can do the same. It takes more than 50 secs to crawl a distance of about 15 meters, thats more than 3 secs pr/meter...come on. I have done some crawling in full combat gear, soaked to the bone in mud (had to crawl through a mud pit first) and it was a lot faster than that..and no one was firing at me, I'm sure that in real combat I would have moved even quicker.

The problem with the knife isn't it's damage. But I think it's range is pretty ridiculus. Enemies nail you from where it doesn't even seem the blade can reach you. What's worst smgs don't even seem to be as effective in close quaters because a knife will hit with %100 accuracy while moving at ranges in which smg's still can miss with their spread. So I think they need to tone down the knifes range quite a bit.
