What I personaly hate about all these knifers is that while they have 100% chance to hit you, You on the other hand have a gun you and you have been on the move, you then need to wait a second or two to get best accuracy and in that time you are already dead were as in other games it would be the other way around. Also these guys seem to bunnyhop all day long and you waste ammo and then boom they gut you without any problems or missing health. In reality if you were hit from a Bullet you would either be dead or you will be hurt and not moving around fast or bunnyhopping. I also think they should put a limit on how many times you can jump before getting tryed and this will so althose who use bunnyhopping as a way of dodging bullets. :deal: :0wned:

Yeah I agree the knife is way too powerful and infantry weapons do suck at close range, which isn't realistic since soldiers are more accurate at close range. FH .7 seems so campy. Nobody assaults flags anymore, they are all just lay down and camp. There are a lot of people jumping around with knives in small maps. And whats up with some smg, semi-auto rifle, and Stg44 kits have no grenades? I wish infantry combat in FH .7 would be status quo as FH .67.

Knives don't have a 100% chance of hitting you, you still need to aim, even if the damage spread and range are obscene. They also aren't necessarily one-hit-kill weapons--I often injure or am injured to 50% in knife fights by a hit. That is a bit over the top still (what if I nail his arm?) so it should be like bullets--damage more dependent on what body part you hit.

Close-in accuracy of rifles/pistols could be a tiny bit less random though--I've missed a lot of people while running, even though they nearly filled my pistol crosshairs. I know it's difficult for a pistol shooter on the move to hit a running target, but if you're both going in a straight line it's not _that_ difficult at a reasonable (~5 meters) range.

I also think they should put a limit on how many times you can jump before getting tryed and this will so althose who use bunnyhopping as a way of dodging bullets.

I believe the anti-bunnyhopping and limited stamina thing is either part of the BF2 engine or is coming with FH2 anyway.

There ought to be something to counter the total absence of parrying. As long as the knifer has a clear line of sight on you and is properly aimed, nothing short of moving entirely out of the way (which is of dubious effect anyway) will likely prevent a successful hit. If somebody was stabbing/slashing at you from the front, you'd at least have a chance to try to block it with your own weapon, instead of just being a big pin-cushion. I suppose it's not at all possible to change the damage effects for the knife to still do full damage against a person's back, while cutting down damage, or even randomizing it, to the front?

Or if he's a Japanese officer, the more likely it is the Axis side will lose the map, the higher the percent chance you'll stab yourself with the katana :-)

If you replace the slash with a stab you could make hits to chest or legs not lethal and stabs to the head lethal. During a knife-fight it will be difficult to hit the head of your enemy while it is rather easy when he doesn't notice you.

the knife should do as much damage as the weakest caliber gun.

When you hit a dead cow or a camel you can see the shotgun like hit pattern the knife has now. Personally I don't mind the knife update, I'd like to see Pavlov's house with the knife removed from the kits. Its such a nice map and its a shame that its knife-tarded up now. As long as it doesn't ruin a map who cares. It ruins Pavys but other than that all it does is make me switch my gun to my knife when I enter a house. As for getting "OWNED" by a knife I think thats a joke. I mean a kill is a kill. I think using the Curtis hawk to shoot down a zero or taking down a heavy tank with a light tank is more of a reason to say "OWNED" than knifing someone. Thats me though. It seems like the knife is just like it is in BF2 or BFV... you swing, they die.
