The one thing that bothers the shat out me in BF2 and BF1942 is when you enter a vehicle and you MAGICALLY disappear from sight and your in the vehicle... and just shits you back out when you want to exit. Now my question is, is there any way to create enter/exit vehicle animations with the new BF2 editor kit coming out? or is it simply a waste of zeit because it doesn't really add to the game play (or well it does to me but some people can care less) For example, you have to climb on a tiger to get to the compartment to operat it...(dur..) If this post made any since to anyone give me your thoughts:smokin:
i think it would be pretty cool, cause it would avoid bailers to bail right into the tank, cause they would be shot while climbing up. It would also avoid the people to leave their tiger in the middle of the enemy just because its burning :D
This is something i've always wanted to see. Not only is it more realistic, but it prevents people from bailing from their tanks and escaping when the player who shot them should have gotten a kill. The same goes for planes. In order to bail, you should see some sort of animation of the player bailing before he escapes. The extra time gives the attacking plane time to finish the job before the would-be bailer exits his vehicle.
yeah, with planes the windshield should go back (or up..whatevr) when you hit the bail boutten, and then maybe 2-3 sec after the windshield has opend you bail.
now that would be cool!
but i can see it would be a bit more difficult to do with tanks and vehicels..
Even on BF42 engine, some of the devs noticed that there were handles/triggers left in the code to allow for animations on entering/exiting vehicles, but of course, you know how difficult it was to use custom animations in BF42. In BF2, even if those handles/triggers are not their, it will be easy to create them with Python code. And lets hope people start working on the Animations Editor, when it comes out... if it comes out....
I hope they will manage to bring those in! I guess making a vehicle for FH2 will take twice the time it took to make it for fh1
Also weather effects would be dandy, So would spotlights in maps such as "Bombing the Reich" since the bf2 engine has dynamic lights, but thats beside the point. Any ways, back on topic. I'm somewhat experienced in animating, I mean it shouldn't be all that hard, right? With the improved animator and all.
my idea but seems to be inpossible in my mind some how.... ok you jump on the tank, you jump on he turret, you press "enter" automaticly your taken into a cinimatic view , like in first person view though, your person opens the tank hatch, jumps in you see the hand go up to grab the lid and you see the man close it... seems very difficult but i thijnk that this can be done in Fh2 due to BF2 have an animations editor! http://gamingforums.com/showthread.php?t=204700 this is almost the same but this also deals with viewing and some other ideas i yuo have not checked it out yet.
Yeah I hate shooting and seeing a guy go for a tiger. Also make shooting people out cockpits possible(the back part like on val because you can kill evryone but not shoot him out)
Very Halo/Warthogesque. The more immersion and less general gamey warping the better.
