Hey, I was wondering ... If you are planning on making new maps , are you interesting in making some maps with Fallschirmjäger as the German force? I think it would be a nice change for a map... Kinda like the map "Flugplatz" for Day of Defeat. ( link to picture : http://www.the-idle-monk.co.uk/hoard/dod_flugplatz0001.jpg ) The Fallschirmjäger was the main force on that map for Dod, and you had the option for choosing an FG42 as your weapon, which is one of my personal favorite guns. I just think it would be nice to get some paratrooper stuff for the Germans more in FH , and to see the FG a bit more. I just think its a waste of time scrounging around for FG kits . It would be nice in my opinion just to select an Assault class and lock and load . I hope I'm not overkilling or anything, I just thought it would be a nice map suggestion. Well, you guys think about it and let me know what you think. ( I just know there are a lot of American paratrooper maps like Market Garden , but you really don't see a whole lot of paratrooping on the German's end, except a map I played in the fan map pack) Here's what the kind of soldier look I had in mind : falls8.jpg

Well the reason for the FG42 being a pickup kit is not only for it's power, but also for it's rareness. Only a few thousand were ever made and if you compare that to numbers of other small arms that is actually very, very little.

And yes, there should be actual paratroopers in FH2, with their own model, not just a reskin, but not in the first release. Although the Ramcke brigade did fight in North Africa, the majority of the engagements were still faught by regular Heer soldiers. And the FG42 wasn't used until late 1943, so you won't be seeing that gun in the first release either.

Still tehre are quite many maps by now, featuring Fallschirmjägers, but only two of them include paradrops. Ofcourse they're only reskinned but still they look very well, especially skins done by Hanley wich can be found in newest fan map pack. My map for example has this unit in position of defence of Carentan, although there was no paradropping I still think it was quite interesting battle.

If I belieave so correctly the German parachutes were bad so that you couldnt steer them, so you landed where ever you dropped correct? So I said have which ever side have better parachutes but the other side gets better weapons???? Bad idea :(

I think the allied para's suffered from the same problem, i dont see why allied paratroopers ended up in trees and churches if they could steer their shute.
