Well... Risking a serious round of flaming I would just post my biggest wish for FH. It will probably not be implemented in the near (or far) future (if ever), but I would love to play the Italian and German campaigns in Greece and Albania... As I've understood the Italians will be one of the new armies when 1.7 is out (which will probably be later than sooner), perhaps (only perhaps) would you then consider the Greeks???... It would be soooooo cool if we could fight as the Greeks against the Italians and Germans in the mountains of nothern Greece... And fight along the commonwealth forces in mainland Greece and on Crete (as is already in a small scale implemented.... more maps of the battle of Crete could though be made. Examples would be the battle for Suda Bay, the battle for Malemé Airfield and the battle for Prison Valley! It would perhaps even be possible to make small maps with Greek recistance forces fighting Italians and Germans just like it is done in the Norwegian (spl???) resistance mod).... Fighting as two rather small countries (Italy and Greece) would be a nice change from all these large nations like USA, USSR, UK, Germany and Japan. And just to make it clear... I'm not Greek og Italian... just like their history and think it could make some great maps for this mod winkx.gif ... I would gladly do all the research (I don't know anything about actual modding) for this if it should ever be needed (but I doubt it will sad%20%28frown%29.gif)... Sorry if this is just another crazy wish, but I just had to bring it here... BTW... Thanks for the greatest mod I've ever seen!!! :bows::bows::bows::bows:

oh yea greeks for crete! I had made a small metion of this in thread talking about crete once and I have been working on makeing a thread for them. The idea was that the greeks could go on cerete the same way the british are on counter attack, to aviod making a voive menu. Pretty much nothing would have to be done intially either, as the greek even used a 98 version in addition to therre main rifle. I have had a hard time findin just what eqipmen tthey ued though. Another idewa was a pre-crete map, with a larger naval and wair war that preceded teh invations. The reasoin there was no fighters on crete, was because they had had just air air, and eventually the british had to pull back. anyway here is stuff from my old crete thread. http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=172832&page=1&pp=25&

terminal-strikeAs much as FH as improved upon the german paratroopers with custom skins etc, there are still more details that can be done! The current parachute style the Fallschirmjager have for crete is incorrect. They used a different style of chute reportedely the RZ-16 and RZ-20, that only had one cord going up as opposed to two, (based off a italian design). mini-fallschirmjager.jpg Rather then hanging vertical, they fell with there hands and feet out even after the chute deployed and then they landed on all fours and did a rolling manuver. They wore padded suits to aid doing this, but suffered injuries at a higher rate then the other system. There was also nearly virtually no control over direction, even less then of the 2-cord systems Another ramification of this is that they could not carry very much "beyond a pistol, grenades or perhaps a smg". Most of there eqipment was dropped in pods which they then had to go looking for. --> http://www.feldgrau.com/articles.php?ID=18 The chutes themselves of parachutist were normally white, but ones for other eqipment were often other colors. Note that pilots had a 2 system though. http://www.eagle19.freeserve.co.uk/crete.htm kretakarte.jpe also, paratroopers would normally use a special folding paratrooper knife of different design then the heer. ParaknifeA04.jpg The main thing though is about the parachutes, but I have no idea if the attachment point and chute can be changed like that. The idea of the eqipment containers having some more of the heavier weapons is also partialy represented to with the ammo boxes. There's other things though, such as the gliders (dfs 230 etc), but those are more of suggestions then of the historical details of the drop, and if it is possible to code the different style of chutes specifically this one cord design where you fall flat not feet first.
ParaknifeB07.jpg
terminal-strikeWell the crates could contain some heavier weapons such as flame throwers. Im not sure if the heavier things like the PAW or motorcycle could fit in the crates, but cetainly they could come in gliders The Panzerabwehrwerfer 75 was like a low-weight recoiless pak gun. (recoiless= big blast out back as well as front) and were performed well on crete (they went on to make a bigger one). This is a 81 mm so its not the same as the ones used on crete, but its proabaly similair. 05215.jpghttp://ww2photo.mimerswell.com/gun/d/paw600.htm here is pic of german trooper with flame thrower on crete http://www.rickard.karoo.net/Pictures/crete_german_para.jpg a nice photo galler of crete http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/Gallery/crete/crete-album/ here are real Fallschirmjager getting on a ju52 for the crete jump. crete_german_para2.jpg here is a german glider that landed 0_DA-01156_jpg.jpg in this photo is excellent shot of what Im nearly certain is one of those weapon pods i mentioend earlier, as it matches the destription very well. crete_german_loading.jpg its just next to the symbol on the plane where a guy stanting, right next to him I believe is one of the pods, which would hace contained things like K98k's, more smgs, machine guns, and other supplies. etc. and finally here is knocked mkVI- maybe for a static?
It'd be nice to see the splinter-camo Smock. How about Heavy weapons: GebG36 7.5cm Mountain gun (could be disassembled into smaller loads for transport): attachment.php?attachmentid=25433&stc=1 7.5cm LG40 Recoiless Gun: attachment.php?attachmentid=25434&stc=1attachment.php?attachmentid=25435&stc=1 10.5cm LG40 Recoiless Gun: attachment.php?attachmentid=25436&stc=1attachment.php?attachmentid=25437&stc=1

silianActually i have come to realise that the Panzerabwehrwerfer 75 and the 7.5cm LG40 are, infact the same weapon: Quote taken from diggerhistory.info http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-weapons/enemy_ww2-2.htm Panzerabwehrwerfer 7,5 or 7.5cm LG40: attachment.php?attachmentid=25435 Panzerabwehrwerfer 10,5 or 10.5cm LG40: attachment.php?attachmentid=25436
terminal-strikemudra- do you mean that the weapon not have any ammo, but still be in inventory? Other things-white chutes ju52paratopview.jpg This article talked a lot about the naval part of the batte. So maybe have one destroyer out in the water, but fix it in place so it cannot go and attack airfields. I dunno might mess with map to much. Though the axis could have a ship to. http://historynet.com/wwii/blcaptureofcrete/index2.html a german (italian?) destoryer 0_DA-01308.jpghttp://www.nzhistory.net.nz/Gallery/crete/crete-album/pages/0_DA-01308_jpg.htm another thing might be map textureing. Not sure how accure this tiny pic is though. http://home.freeuk.com/johndillon/invasion.htm Mal_13f.jpg I noticed in that one new fan map (the finnish one I think) there is planes flying overhead, So maybe the same thing but with other ju 52s. 0_DA-02061_jpg.jpg
and finally the one with greek
Hmm that is quite a interesting idea mudra. Im not sure if it would work though except maybe for deployable guns. If i understand correctly, the held deployabel weapon is like 1 'ammo' which can be refilled and your arms like thw weapon-- but I dont know of you can fire a non deployed weapon. I do have some more things for the fallschimer, and also crete in general. I finally found a model of the type of chute that they used. Note especially the white color, and how they aim belly down. fallschirmjager.jpg This was why they could not carry much stuff, and partially why the this type of chute suffered even higher landing injury rates. (much harder to cushion fall, and if you get in the wrong orientation you can land almost head first) According to here--> http://www.btinternet.com/~tringwar/Crete_Battle.html They jumped only with They key here is that troops also landed in gliders (dfs 230), (so could carry more stuff) and also many ju42s could just land directly on the ground after some area had been captured. Another weapon that could be drooped is the PAK36, which according to this site--> http://www.battlefront.co.nz/Article.asp?ArticleID=246 So a quad parachute could be stuck on it could be dropped by 52s. a pak 36--> pak36.jpgpak36-1.jpg -------------- In addition to germans and british, italian and especially greek forces were also involved. On the day after the intial attack they also decided to send some forces on the water, for which some italian boats were to escort. It ended up getting intercepted by the royal navy however and stopped. namelt the italian torpedo boat lupo, which was picutred earlier http://www.regiamarina.net/engagements/lupo/lupo_us.htm a italian ship escorting the landing convoy to crete. 0_DA-01308.jpg So maybe a british destroyer and, eventually if a italian ship of some sort (such as one of there destoruer, MAS speedboats, etc) is done, they could spawn in the water together for a small naval fight. (maybe after ther german capped the airfield or something.) In the same that both French and British are one teh counterattack map (i.e 2 class are british with there flag) greek forces could be given some kits for the allied side on crete. (hence avoiding making a greek voice menu, and showing there paricipateion). Overview of allied forces on crete-- http://homepages.force9.net/rothwell/crete.htm greek flag. greek couple other things I came across drawn image of a trooper from a book cover Fallschirmjager1B.jpg not for crete, but eventualyl a scoped FG-42 kit could be done too for fallsm.. A model of one--> girv16d.jpg

Yea, that chute was a real problem for the fallschirmjagers, those guys were real toug S.O.B.'s..wait!....Alot of the Fallschirmjagers were killed by civillians with shovels, and pitchforks, no wonder the Luftwaffe never made another large-scale airborne assualt, even though it would of proved useful on the Eastern Front.
