Why are soldiers only given ONE Faustpatrone 30? The reality was that german soldiers could often carry more than one since they were light and small. Especially panzergrenadiers who could tote several into battle by stuffing their vehicles with them. Furthermore, it's unbalanced ingame since the bazooka and piat can shoot quite a distance - BUT THE GERMANS ONLY GET TO SHOOT 30 METERS! I think Faustpatrone 30 kit should have a minimum of two fausts. I don't feel the same way about the Panzerfaust 100. I feel that the balance and historical accuracy of this weapon is great. BUT I think that all AT rocket kits NEED to have splash damage. Not alot, but enough to kill anyone who gets within a yard or so of it. The explosion/area effect should be less than a grenade but way more than it is now.

Lemme guess.. you only play on Germans? The faustpatrone/panzerfaust soldier is a one man army already.

The Anti Tank weapons you are referring to are hollow charge projeectile launchers. They don't have any splash damage, the bowl-shaped base of the projectile focuses the power of the detonation on a very small area, the result is enormous pressure and high localized penetration power, however, it has no area effect damage. That's how Panzersch├╝rzen or sandbags/spare tracks on tanks protect the tanks: they stop the hollow charges when they're far enough away from the armour. By the way, having two Faustpatrone's is a good idea, i think.

Well, there's still a lot of explosives involved, so the area damage isn't completely absent, however, the energy is mostly concencrated in the tip of the warhead.

yeah, but it wouldn't kill everyone within a yard. At least not the explosion itself....he may be injured by the spall (little metal scraps blown off)

Nah. Dont give him 2 Faustpatrone. Its not unbalanced if you compare it with Zooks and PIAT, since you have a rifle, they only a pistol! ;)

unlike Piats & Bazookas; fausts often only need 1 hit (a king tiger driver must still hate me for that). Sometimes you need 2, indeed; but having a rifle instead of a gun makes panzerfausts way more common then bazookas or piats. Allied tankers know that any ennemy infantry can be a panzerfauster and might destroy them if they get too close; that prevents many of them from rushing ahead to cap the flag. While a single Panzerschreck can destroy several Tanks; even more tanks can be overwhelmed under heavy panzerfaust fire; best example is Falaise Pocket (though i think this map needs a loose schreck in a building), Allies learnt to fear the Faust and "insta-jumpa-aima-shoota-kabooma" fausters :p Don't need to prone to aim with that thing :)

Of course Panzerfausts/Faustpatronen are more powerful than other AT weapons, but their range is really limited. However, all hollow charge weapons have a general problem: It doesn't matter where they hit. When in real life Panzersch├╝rzen, sandbags, spare tracks, wire mesh was used to stop the projectiles.....in FH this does not work (yet), so the penetration power of 300 mm or so of hollow charge weapons is applied directly to every surface of the tank, and a hit in the tracks blows up the whole thing just like anywhere else. Last i heard though projectile stopping features are being made functional.
