Annoyance: Jeeps not being able to go up hill. Jeeps should be able to go up hills. they should not stall out and slide down them like tanks used to.
Dive bombers (IL-2 and Stuka) should have a LOT better climbing ability. Not saying speed, but BALLS. They stall out at greater then a 30 degree angle and then you drift around before getting back on course. If you have to use the planes for attacking by diving on top of an enemy unit, you should be able to get in that position without requiring a map's length of prep time.
Basically, all the engine power in FH is a little low. Beef the vehicles up. I gartuntee you a jeep could climb up a 45 degree angle hill without stalling. Even with a .30 cal and 2 guys.
Amen, its quite annoying having to abandon your jeep when climbing a hill. leaving a huge "IM OVER HERE" mark on the enemy's minimap so they have plenty of time to prepare for your arival.. and death.
well the nitrous code is pretty comon, so perhaps that could be implemented as a fire button for the driver as sort of engine rev, with a lough engine reving sound when you press it. If possible, altfire could be the break (maybe have a break squeling sound).
Even without those sorts of things, I agree a jeep could get up that such using a lower gear in rl.
Just wondering, how would the MG guy hang on if the jeep's climbing a hill? I don't know much about this, just asking. Would he have to hold on to the gun, or would he sit down, or get out, or what?? I'm just asking about real life.
Hed probably sit down or hang on to something. The MG wasn't attached with balsa wood, that mount could probably support him pretty well.
45 degrees is a lot more than you might think.
as well as the duce and a half specaillty if the 6x6 was kicked in
Thats the problem, the jeep doesn't seem to be able to use its 4 wheel drive in game. Its stuck in 2 wheel drive, atleast thats what it feels like to me.
Perhaps instead of the nitrous engine boost, what about having secondary fire give the front wheels some driving power.
