I would like to see in the first release of fh2 the map of El Alamein. With the teams of british and german. El Alamein was a small town near the mediterranean coast. This map should have the following for the germans SdKfz (Panzer III Ausf M) DAK and SdKfz (Panzer III Ausf N) For Tanks 2 of each in the map For the british The M3 Light Tank (Stuart II) 2 of thos Also The Matilda III 3 of thos And alot of house and buildings and yes so what do you ugys think?

The Main Brit tank at El Alamein was the M4 Sherman and M3 Grant.

Next most numerous was probably the Crusader III and Valentine.

The Churchill was present in small numbers (6?).

The Matilda II was too slow and its armor was no longer sufficent. By El Alamein it was already being retired. El Alamein was the last major battle the Matilda II fought in for the Western Allies.

IIRC the M3 Stuart replaced the Mk VI light tank as the Brits standard light tank.

Indeed he has. I really don't need to post here, but I will to drive home my point.

The Matilda II was at the end of its rope by El Al. Although it did serve in the east (far east, not Russia; although it did serve with the the Red Army, but that is not my point) El Al was pretty much its last hurrah.

Churchills were relativly new tanks for El Alamein, and hardly saw any combat. I would liken it to the Avengers at Midway perhaps. They were new weapons put to use in small numbers against an enemy that outgunned them by a large margin.

The Sherman M4A1, M3 Grant, and Crusader III will provide plenty of firepower for this map. The 75mm low-velocity cannon should dispatch a Panzer IV with a modicum of skill and tactical finesse. They should chew up a Panzer III pretty easily too. The Crusader III will probably be my weapon of choice on this map, since its high velocity 57mm OQF 6 pounder should crew through the steel of German tanks of this era at the ranges I plan to engage at. Plus that speed is going to be a real benefit out in the open desert, as will its very low profile.

El Alamein was one of two DICE maps I liked (three if you take the expansions). Great idea! Then I would like to see Tobruk with Australia vs. Italy. Sidi Barrani (spelling?) with Free French vs. Nazi-Germany. Operation Torch with USA vs. Nazi-Germany. Matapan Bay with Great Britian (and Australia) vs. Italy. Crete with Nazi-Germany vs. Great Britian. And Supercharge with Great Britian vs. Nazi-Germany. :)

'[21PzStauffenberg']^^ one of the seven sins: Double Posting!

It's probably a mistake.:uhm: Remember that El Alamein shouldn't be one map representing whole battle without real locations recreated. I wish the map would focus on a smaller part of the battle located in historicaly accurate level.:nodding:
