let us discuss about your dream FH2 maps at the start of WW2, hope FH2 will have a good start of WW2

i hardly know anything about europe, but what i want is a map with some nice plains

i also hope that there is a fantasy map of direct assault of the marginot line, lol.(well, it must be fun, for french!)

you wouldn't need a fantasy map, it really happened and lasted only about half a day. The germans blew up one of the turrets quite easely and it allowed them to pass the line and overrun the rest from behind... The french really didn't use their line properly :D

I hope they would put Eben emael in...

Actually the French put too much trust in the Maginot line, placing 23 of their best divisions under the ground. The Germans just went around it, through the Belgian and French Ardennes. There the defenses where somewhat neglected, since the Ardennes were considered inpenetrable by armoured divisions. A nice tankbattle would be the battle at Hannut between the 3rd and 4th panzer division and the 2nd and 3rd division légère méchanique, with 1600 tanks it was the biggest tank battle the world had ever seen up to then.

Was de Gaulle not involved in Hannut?

And yes, I'd love to see more early war maps - Poland, Norway (no need to model the Norwegians as French and Brits did a lot of fighting up there), the Low Countries and of course France. A Danish 'defence of the King's Palace' map would be fun - his royal guard refused to surrender and fired back at the Germans for about three hours before getting bored and realising it was futile!

Never forget, of the 26 soldiers killed during the invasion of Denmark, over half were due to plane crashes or friendly fire. Gotta love the Danish spirit!

Fall_Gelb-1940 and its giant beta predecessor were based on the German advance from the Ardennes into rural France.

won't norway and denmark be pointless, they don't even stand a chance say, 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% (i am afraid this is exaggerated already)

Denmark yes, I agree, hence the joking. Maybe that went right over your head. (I am afraid this is no exaggeration)

Norway, no. They resisted for more than three hours and had interesting battles, and the existing French and British Armies could be used as they both fought there.

When Early Western Europe is modelled, I think the Norwegian Theatre does stand a chance, as you so eloquently put it.

We currently have:

-Fall Weiss (crossing the Vistula or something like that, I assume) -Eastern Blitz (Warsaw outskirts?) -Fall Gelb (some general entire-French-campaign-rolled-into-one map) -Counterattack 1940 (the French thrust at Arras, probably)

All these maps are cool, except that Fall Weiss really could use a bit more action, Eastern Blitz needs to be full and requires a LOT of Allied coordination otherwise it's kind of pointless, as with Fall Gelb (DEFEND THE DAMN AIRFIELD), and Counterattack is a bitch if either side loses all flags, too hard to come back from.

They're all very big, much slower than the hyperactive Eastern Front or late war maps the panzer whores like, have vehicles that require far more thought in their usage (where to position the B1, for example), and generally bore the kiddies. Unfortunate, that. I've had some spectacular fights on all four of them when people stopped whining and really gave it their best in teamwork.

Please send more of these, they're great. I actually lament the fact that FH changed focus from a pure early-war scenario.

Sort-of-early war-ish (1941), we also have

-Soletschnogorsk -Kiew -Kharkov Winter -Rheinubung (essentially timeless) -Crete 1941 -Cretan Village

And in the Pacific,

-Wake -Invasion of the Philippines

Yes, there are a lot of clown tanks, yes they're very infantry heavy and you don't get StG'44s, but hey, rewl.
