When FH2 is ready for release can the default release be in .rar format. So I can quickly extract it into my mods folder and play. Then for servers the same thing upload/download then extract.
Nice HeartSmasher, I assume this means that WOLF will (hopefully) have a dedicated FH2 server up and running on release day? :) Please?
also if its in .rar format then it wont be installed by the everyday person.i on the other hand think that it will save dl time with out useing an installer though.

There will most probably be several versions - including a passworded release for pre-downloads, as in previous releases (0.7, 0.65).
I have a small feeling a two year production will not end in an open archive to drag n drop into bf2/mods... personally i prefer .rar as well, as I know what to do with it, but if you ever have released a map or a mod you'd be surprised how many people that dont even know what a "directory" is, or how to open a .rar.. As you know .rar works in two ways, either you extract the archive as normally, or you can create a new directory.. this would give 50% of all FH2 players (yes that is how many players that dont know how to do it) this folders: FH2/FH2, if they put that folder into mods = BF2/Mods/FH2/FH2.. = wont work..
I would bet some hard cash FH2 comes with an installer
You know that it certainly will.
the client release is an installer, the server release is a zip (suitable for both windows and linux dedicated servers)
Nice! And will there be a passworded downloadable prerelease? A torrent link?
I guess they already said so! So,just wait!
Yes we are all anticipating the public release of FH2 and hope to get the files early maybe the client too for some of our members to make sure our server is up and ready for the public on day one and maybe have it available for install for WOLFServers Clients as well so they do not have to upload it to their servers.
Maybe offering both would be good, I prefer the .rar as I am guessing it will be large like FH for Battlefield 1942. The installer slowed me down so I installed both to an empty directory and converted them all to .rar files. backed it up so if I have to do a reinstall it will not take long to get it going again.
