Ok, I posted part of this a while ago but I have developed the idea and thought it would be best to start a new thread. My original idea was based on the Pz III model having an open turret hatch and therefore a commander's position could be made which has the player with his head out of the top spotting for the driver/gunner. This could be expanded by using the duck function the BF2 MG positions have. The commander (who can use binocs due to the fire-your-weapon-while-in-a-vehicle thing) could spot for/direct the driver with his head out the hatch and when the duck button is pressed he could duck inside and button-up. His view could then be through the periscopes/command ports. I don't know what the devs are planning to do with the BF2 VoIP communication system (press x for team, y for squad) but if it was kept it could be used with my idea for some great tank combat. Squad commander could be the tank commander in one tank then there would be 5 others - all driver/gunners therefore making 5 tanks under the command of one guy, all in communication with each other through VoIP. I can imagine them now... rolling across the North African deserts...
I would rather use TS... Never liked ingamevoices.
ANYWAYS, I like your suggestion. I already do like being on top of the tank as a "commander" when someone else is driving and gunning, and its even better when you got a great tanker as your buddy on TS2 or Ventrilo. Basicly I have nothing more to add to your suggestion, but to agree with it.
Yeah, I'm a fan of TS too but at least the BF2 VoIP feature ensures that all the players can at least hear you.
A very good point.
Using TS in FH2 will be seriously limiting like it is now when playing BF2 unless its a clan/organised game.

No it doesn't, they still have to be in your squad and have it turned on. A lot of people don't even have it on because its smoother without it.
if you play in a clan will be a great suggestion, but this idea will decrease the number of players, all those clanless or ppl with few time, or those who play to enjoy and doesnt like team work or imagine you dont know the driver language, what would you do? drive this blind tank alone?

= unrealistic Try walking/running/jumping and looking trough binoculars.. and i dont think they had gyro stabilized binoculars during ww2.
Ducking for cover would be a much, spotting would also be very nice. Regarding the voice-over-IP suggestion: It would be usefull for oranized plays or certain blessed public servers with the "right" people on it, in general it might not be used a lot though. I would implent it though, that way team play would be rewarded even more. :nodding:
I'm with Donuts on this one. All the features you described sound fantastic; I'd love to have a tank commander. As for voice chat, eghhh, whatever--never use it. Maybe as a "nice to have" but I wouldn't force people to rely on it.
