Okay well this is tough because things are scaled down in this game. But my suggestion is to get rid of all of those ridiculous steep hills that Nothing can climb. It just sucks, Ive especially experienced this for the jeeps.
Why? Impassable terrain gives the battlefield important strategical areas. If you could drive everywhere you might as well have one big square empty arena or something...
I think hes talking about the little hills (40* grade) that can stop tanks and jeeps dead in their tracks.
In that case I don't understand what you're talking about.
Sometimes you come across a dirt mound that stop tanks and jeeps. It's almost acting like a tree in that sense.
Maybe the BF 2 engine handels adhesion better than BF 1942. I don´t think so, but maybe it will improve things a little.

Oh no, it's far far worse.
I think this was brought up a while ago in a suggestion thread to implement gear shifting in vehicles.
There's no way that's immediately apparent to make manual shifting not be a total fun-killing overly anal-retentively realistic pain in the ass, but I am sure surprised at some of the hills FH jeeps can't climb.
Would an automatic gearbox be at all possible? Even a rudimentary one (like "normal" drive and "cross-country") to keep things simpler? I have a '98 Wrangler, which is an underpowered, heavy beast, and even it gets pretty much anywhere in first. I'd expect similar from a fairly light GP (probably not the Kubel or Type 95, though.)
Yeah.. gears in BF2 are possible. When editing the vehicle in the BF2 editor there is options to change the values of how many gears the vehicle will have. Also, when playing BF2 you can drive up a semi steep hill and listin and feel the vehicle change gears to get up the hill.
Awesome...so does that solve the problem then?
