Smith_;3305260Might as well bring in the Pershing, and the Maus, and the Super freakin uber tiger.

Its a good idea, just not for this mod.

Like you don't want to see Shermans and Panthers fighting against hordes of Ruskies and T34s...

pmbf1942Well, accordin to Command and Conquer history:

I believe the ENTIRE point of such a map would have been to recreate a possible, hypothetical, battle between soviet and allied forces over the spoils of war in Germany immediately following WW2 (In 1945-46). This scenario, while unlikely, could've happened.

I reaaaally don't know WHY we would have to inspire ourselves of Red Alert, while we can have a whidely studied subject (hypothetical WW3 scenarios) and much less fantasyst scenario.

In other words :

Red Alert and all C&C games, "realism" wise, are in the same category as games like Heroes of Might and Magic, Master of Orion and Return to Castle Wolfenstein (with the robots, she-nazis and resurrected gothic kings). If you want a shitty Red Alert mod, then it certainly won't be FH.

A map like what would be proposed here could be a fan map maybe (since I doubt the FH team will make too many hypothetical maps, hopefully). It could be made once we have most late war stuff, and the action could be located in central Germany, Austria or Czechoslovakia between Soviet and American/British/French forces (depending on were the fight happens).

In all fairness we really don't know what would have occured if:

"Albert Einstein designed the Chronosphere - a device which could send one person to specified place in space and time. Einstein travelled back to interfere with Adolf Hitler's release from prison after the Munich Putsch. He proceeded to send Hitler to a random place in space and time, causing the creation of a parallel universe in which the Command and Conquer timeline occurs."

-Wikipedia (yeah I'll quote wiki for a game)

Of course we'd be in the other universe so prove it didn't happen.;)

Yup, lol. How about a Mix of American, German, British, and French troops, but mostly USA, France, and England, infantry models, with a few Germans here and there.

The good thing with 1945 french troops, is that they used a bunch of captured Panthers. ;)

the whole point of the map would be not to see any axis technology, it would be to see how the allies and comintern stack up against each other in various roles, but of course it would be balanced.

i tried to make a little test "map" and found out that it's funny to have a KV1 vs a Sherman Jumbo...no result, lol, while i am playing as a KV1( against bot) i attempt to push the jumbo into the river.... while sherman and T 34s have equal odds of destroying others (hmm, the t 34 might have more chance because it's a bit faster...) while the IS2 is too crumpsy on the battlefield though tough to kill from front but, the russian Katyusha is really a problem for the allies... hmm, i have to add this, the US m10s and m36s performs very good, lol though a bit suck if a soviet soldier with a RPG get nears to it

also, the sherman firefly just raping T 34s although they just get killed from rear by a t 34 using only 1 shot .

The US had their own version of the Katayusha and also had a version mounted on Shermans (Sherman Calliope).

Also think that if WW2 had evolved into West versus Soviets the Brits would be fielding Comets and Centurions. The Centurion was years ahead of its time and was more than a match for any Soviet tank.

Soviets would have fielded T-44/100 and IS-III.
