okay being a firefighter i was thinking about this. first to start off this suggestion, could a lot more things burn? like if a bomb hits a ship could there be like a crap load of smoke and fire? or even vehicles. now the second part is if this was included, could there be like firefighters/hoses/ extinguishers/trucks? cuz i know on ships crews had hoses and stuff to put out fires. at air bases they had trucks. and even on airplanes they had extinguishers. and heres my idea how it could be done. first on ships. a bomb hits a certain part of the deck(multiple sections of the ship that can be damaged) and it starts burning. there is like a section of hose somewhere. u go up to it and press E. (there should be multiple along the deck/tower) then u point it at the fire and the animation of a stream of water comes out. and essentially it starts reparing it. the more its repaired the less burning (if it can be done). and if u wait too long to put out the fire/ burning. a gaping whole should appear in the deck and then an engineer now has to take care of it. now if movement with the hose can be applied, that would be awesome but i dont know how to do that. now at airports. could there be pickup kit extinguishers that have the same effect except that u go up to a 0 health plane and repair it till like lets say like a milimeter of health and then the extinguisher runs out. and the extinguishers dont respawn. i like this idea but what do you all think of it? good or bad idea?

I like it. It could save some of your forces and could be realistic in a BoB style map.

Maybe the hoses repair it?

great idea. sounds very hard to implement, especially the part with the hoses. maybe have a fire extinguisher pickup kit scattered around the place, like in air fields, on ships etc. their primary weapon would be the extinguisher, and give them like a pistol with 1 clip for self defense (unrealistic, yes. but definately helpful)

Wonderfull idea, I just got off midway 60-14 in a zero. Not to happy, but did well with the lag. Wish I kuda been in a hellcat, so nobody could talk smack. Anyways. This would be really awsome. Have a feeling it would up the game requirements tho. Lotta detail and stuff Iono tho.

Could very well be possible, but fire effects tend to eat performance. Also you'd be able to repair anything with the extinguisher, and you wouldn't have to point at the fire to repair.

And if it isn't so much "repairing", but making the fire stop (sooner)? Wouldn't that be more logic? Is this possible to do?

The fire would have to be a damage effect, and those can only be stopped by repairing.
