Things that need changing:

1) The bombers should not spawn in front of the fighters. If you hop in a fighter, you either have to wait for a teammate to decide to take a bomber, or wait for an enemy to strafe it.

2) Two fighters should not spawn in one hangar. If they spawn at the same time, the guys that hop in them will try to leave right away and thus will collide. Alternatively, they'll try to avoid each other and clip their wing on the hangar door because the hangars weren't designed to handle multiple planes in the first place.

3) The British get Hurricanes Mk. I, while the Germans get Fw190, Bf109 and Bf110. Hurricanes weren't really used as frontline dayfighters anymore by 1943. Replace with Spitfires Mk. IX and maybe a Typhoon or two.

4) Fix the bug where everyone in the hangar dies when the planes spawn. It seems a bit silly to have six guys all standing around in a hangar waiting for planes to spawn, then have them all keel over once the planes finally do so.

5) Possibly have the bombing objectives pointed out on the map. Most people playing have no idea what they're supposed to be doing. Disgregard this if they are already highlighted.

1) It's quite possible to manuever around it and take off

2) It's quite possible to negotiate a take off with 2 planes in hangar. Give away if you see that the other person is an idiot. No need to clip anything

5) True

I didn't have a chance to play this map yet in the new version. Did they fix the map so that when all objectives are destroyed, the axis tickets actually quickly bleed down? Or is it still, find-the-llast-german-hiding-in-a-hut game?

they fixed the ticket thing. the bombers spawn in front of the fighters to force you to actually do the objectives instead of just flying around like a tard.

as for the hangar thing be polite and the let the other guy go first

I question the logic of putting the Wellington in front of the hangar with fighters in it but you can get the Hurricanes out without alot of problems.

To best of my knowledge the Brits never used dayfighters in a nightfighter role over enemy territories. The Germans however did use dayfighters in Wild Boar missions at night to intercept Allied bombers.

This map is screaming for a Beaufighter IF or a Mosquito NF. MkII. A Ju-88G and US P-70 nightfighter would be at home here.

By 1943 the Typhoon should have replaced the Hurricane as a fighter but I dont think the Typhoon was used at night.

Well even before they think about the spawning positions of the bombers...up the armor!!! It takes maybe 2 seconds max for a Focke-Wolfe to take out a fully-loaded (is it a Liberator? The British heavy bomber..). That's just not right! I know that the bombers shouldn't be invincible to fire or anything like that or it would ruin gameplay, but at least have them withstand some damage from a single fighter!

I fail to see how putting a big obstacle in front of the fighters better enables any objectives to be completed. Whenever I've played the map in .66 people wait in line to get a fighter while the bombers stay empty. If they wanted people to use the bombers, this was not the way to do it. Giving them some survivability would be a start. As it currently stands they die every time to a burst from a German fighter.

Why couldn't they just line the planes up wingtip-to-wingtip? Give every plane an unobstructed takeoff zone.

Agreed, bombers in both BoB and BtR are VERY weak. Wish they could get beefed up a bit.

Actually I have discussed with others that most Brit fighter strips used pressed grass strips while bombers nmostly used hardened runways. That was one reason the Germans had problems knocking out British fighter bases. The Brits would just fill in the bomb holes with dirt and sod it over.

The Bombers because of their heavy weight used concrete strips. Also the bombers and fighters usually operated from different airbases. Move the bombers to their own airfield and increase AA guns to defend them and move the fighters to their own grass strip.

The Bombers already have up to 800 HP, while fighters he usually around 70-100 usable HP. The Fw190 spits out something around 60 20mm shells per second, what do you expect another plane will look like after a pass by this??? Let's say the FW shoots 2 seconds, means there are 120 20mm impacts in your pretty bomber. Of course the Lancaster has alot of HP, but you will hardly miss it.
