This map has to be one of the most well loved FH maps of all time, yet right now it has some issues that could be nicely addressed to make it a great finished product. Some suggestions to fix it... Air power...Allied have massive air advantage over the axis. The 262 is worthy of a couple allied planes, but when you add in the FW which are all but useless you end up with a big allied advantage. FW's are outmanuvered by Typhoons and Spits. They still have there manuverability from .61. So i say lets replace them with 109-g's. This will cut up some of the advantage the allies have. Axis still however lack and air to ground attack aircraft. Lets replace the 262 with the 262/rocket variant on Alpenphenstung. This way the 262 will not only be attacking air, but also ground, thus cutting its ability to dominate. This will give a better balance while still keeping a realistic feel. Allied #'s vs. German Quality. Tanks...These seem fine. Infintry...Again, this is fine. Bleed....here is a major problem with this map. If one team blows the bridges early, this map easily lasts an hour. The british are trying to attack in this map? Yet they dont bleed. Why not make the british bleed untill they capture a MAJORITY of the flags. There are 6 flags..British bleed untill they cap 3. Bleed hits either team who is down to only 2 flags. Dont worry about flags being more important (ie. If they cap this flag, bleed stops) Becuase importance is already shown by vechile spawn...(ie. kapping flag=tiger spawns). Also this brings up a good point. The bridges. Allies should NOT be trying to blow the bridges. Yet they blow them up just as much as the germans do. I say remove the abililty to blow them from the british. This means cut their bomber kits, and cut the Wellinton. Give them another Typhoon in place. This typhoon wont unbalance becuase germans have fighters to counter.

I agree but still there are some things to think about... Yesterday i wrote that in my opinion theres no need for a Me262 equipped with rockets. Instead the FW190 should be more agile like the Me109 and furthermore it should be equipped with bombs (or rockets). Let the 262 as it is. Its strong enough. I agree too that only the germans should be able to blast the bridges (doesn't really make sense when the attacking brits are blowing them away) Or - as a compensation - if the brits can blow it too they have to bleed when starting the game until they got three flags. But the points shouldn't decrease too fast like for the germans in Prokhorovka where half of the points are lost when they reach the third flag.
I wish the Fw could be more agile. But Hartmann himself stated that changing aircraft values is a MAJOR undertaking. So changing the FW isnt out of the question, just a long major work in progress. Thats why i said change the FW to 109's. Giving the 109's bombs could be another option. But i think giving the germans too many jabos isnt a good idea. 1 should be enough. Their armor is already very capable of dealing with allied armor. Givng them jabos will just tilt the ground war into the germans favor i feel too much. Thats why i said replace the 262 with a rocket variant. The 262 can easily kill anything in the air. Giving it rockets will make the plane have to spend its time between air and ground. Cutting its effectiveness.
Im trying to find fixes that can be done now and released in .7. Lets not get into huge undertakings like, "lets add this". Or lets recode this. Those things take months to do. My fixes can be done in 5 minutes.

This thread will probably interest you. On bridges, I'd like it if you could repair them with engineers or something when they were destroyed. In Sudden Strike, bridges can be destroyed, but can then be repaired again by supply trucks, meaning that if the enemy has supply trucks, they're only cut off from the other side of the river for so long. But I suppose that can't be done in BF 1942. Once something's destroyed, it can't be repaired again. Or bridges should "re-spawn" a set time after they're destroyed. That'd work, too.
They do respawn i think. But again...we want solutions which can be applyed now. All those other ideas require ALOT of coding. Simple map fixes could be done in a nights time and then released as a patch. This would give us something new to download before .7. It would also add the final touches to some maps giving us a final polished fun map.
