I was playing vanilla BF a few days ago and noticed how easy it was to ground airplanes with flak. In FH, its much harder with guns like the Bofors since the flak shell explodes a lot later in FH than in BF. While the in BF it takes about 0.2 seconds from fireing to exploding, the flak shells in FH need a good 0.5 seconds before exploding. I think reducing the time between fireing and exploding would make Flak like the Bofors a lot more effective...

I couldn't hit a moving slug with that thing!!! The Bofors is a disaster... You can't bring down ANYTHING with them on BoB...

They are easy to hit with, one dirct hit and its bye bye fighter, along with the OTT Vierling and Jap 25mm they make flying a nasty business. Too many times Have I been at the SOUTH OUTPOST on El Alamein and taken heavy damage by some faggot in the AXIS MAIN shooting at me through the clouds with a freaking vierling. Same goes for the Allied AA you can be flying along and all of a sudden *poof* [11PzG] Federiker [40mm Bofers] [11PzG] MG42Maniac, the annoying thing about the bofers is you think you are fine as you are at 100% armour and health and boom in a split second you die :(

The new flak effects look awesome. Good job whoever did them!

Flak is already too easy to use, don't make it any easier or pilots won't stand a chance...

Flak historically is deadly, far more deadly to a plane than opposing planes, German flak battalions were the very best. Check out losses in the RAF 2nd TAF who literally held the low and medium altitude front lines in 44/45 in Europe, most losses were due to flak or flak damaged planes crashing on landing, units were almost always understrength due to flak damaged planes waiting for repair. P47 losses were also incredibly high due to flak.

Lightning, hop on warclouds TS some point:). Theres some very good co-ordination going on there for both the reds and blues. F16 TS is hardly used:(

Yeah, that's the only thing which is screwed up with the flak. I remember BF42 having that problem long ago, but they fixed it with a patch where they made the explosion slightly delayed, so if you hit the sandbag, there is no explosion. Other then that, Bofors are deadly. Almost any plane receiving a direct hit will blow up or catch fire, or, my favourite: the pilot will die inside :naughty: . All i do on BoB is sit in the flak and blast the planes with Bofors. The german flak38, on the other hand is a POS. I am yet to see anyone get a kill with that thing on a moving plane

The Sandbag problem is caused by our Flak being able to kill infantry with splash damage. If you hit somewhere, infantry nearby will suffer. The operator of the Flak is infantry ;)

Then remove the sandbags,no protection from them anyway,or put in a barrel depression stop.

Agreed, either remove the sandbags or make them a little lower around the bofors.
