I think that if u shoot a person with a flamethrower in their gas tank i should ignite causeing an explosion to an instant kill to the player and team mates get injured or burned (Saving private ryan or Call of duty 2 you will see this)

Then why would anyone want to use a flamethrower?

Why? It would promote rambo style of gameplay with the flamthrower. You throw yourself in Pavie's house with one and explode as many russian as you can, Osama style.

Wonderful for realism!

the reason i suggested this is because the flamethrower may become an over powered unit in game play with people flameing everywhere you look this would add a weakness to them

It doesn't seem overpowered as it is now.

the flamethrower is already nerfed enough. it dont need another disadvantage. i personally think it should have a strait trajectory but only work over short ranges.

you guys are forgetting something: it takes a spark for gasoline to go off. that is not always the case with a bullet hitting metal (like if the surface of the tank is wet) can these circumstances also be simulated?

SPR & COD2, great, the two pinacles of accurate historic wealth, great sources

And as said before, not every shot on one will blow it up like special effect in a John Woo film.
