Is a pretty obvious suggestion, however, currently in FH there are almost no foxholes.

Could have many diffrent types of foxholes, ones reinforced by logs and sandbags, to some crudely dug holes in the ground, 1 or 2 man foxholes. And diffrent types for the diffrent theaters. For instance, north African foxholes would likely be crudely dug holes in the sand with sandbags piled around them. Foxholes in Europe could have timber piled around them or be reinforced by logs.

Some could just be made with the terrain and maybe a few objects for a little cover around the outside. The stronger foxholes could be made the same way the trenches are made, make a hole in the terrain and stick a foxhole object in there. They may have to be made somewhat shallow or have them open in a certian direction so the player can jump out of them though.

Also could be MGs positioned in the foxholes or be able to deploy certian MGs in the foxholes (like a bipod deploy?) so you can fire them from the cover of a fox hole.

I remember some talk about being able to "dig" your own foxhole. I think that would be cool but could it even be possible?

No, foxholes are definately impossible to be be "dig" in the Bf2 terrain object, not only is it too low resolution to allow for any reasonable results, but it's also simple an unmodifiable in the real time object. Other than that yeah, more foxholes on the map would be great, but obviosuly only on approapiate ones, so both sides won't have ww1 like, mirrored set of defense system.

I don't really get you mean, but I would definatly like to have the possibility to integrate foxholes in my maps when I'm building defense positions.

Well, I posted this as a reply to what original poster said. He mentioned that it'd be nice to be able to dig your own foxhole, so just to make sure I explained that it is not possible to modifie the map ground-terrain-heightmap generated object in the real time in the game, by the game. Maybe some prepared obejcts burried in small holes which you can interract with could work... But as for maps, sure yes, we did it already in bf42 so why wouldn't we be able in Bf2?

I'd love to see foxholes, in combination with grass, getting infantry to hide out for tanks.

He mean's there was a discussion on the entire map would be covered with an static planket of sorts and you could use a shovel to i'd say "destroy" it to "elevate" the ground to produce a foxhole, or artillery and bombs making holes.

Hmm.. You know the pools in bf2? Arent they just object that create an illusion of that there is a hole? Or is it like bf1942 and the mapper have lowered the ground and put the oject over?

If it is like the pool it maybe possible.
