It would be nice to have more realism in all vehicles but gears could be a pain because of short distances needed to travel. Gears are more suitable for simulation games IMO, FH2 won't be a battlefield simulation. I would be in favour of high / low speeds for vehicles like in the run / sprint feature already in BF2.

This has been kicked around already somewhat. Its a lot to code in I believe. I would not mind seeing a "walking speed" for tanks though. There is a slow walk for infantry. It might encourage some additional team play with infantry support for tanks and visa versa.

I agree, that would be a usefull feature to see.

Yeah, Armor needs a "slow mode" In BF2 I find I am one of the only tanker that will put my armor between Inf and enemies. It would be very nice to beable to Slow down so I'm not jetting forward like a squirl on crack, darting back and forth on the street. :P

well, planes can have sort slow mode if you have a joystick :) The idea with gearboxes is that it can be easier sometimes for example with jeeps to climb steeper mountains, tanks already can :)

and reduce the number of "crash-tanks-5-sec-after-stealing-it-n00bs"

I disagree with you, there are alot of "mountains" that i can barely climb with my tank where as jeeps have little trouble with those "mountains".

Thankfully, there will be no stealing of tanks in FH2. Kind of unrealistic to steal a enemy tank.
