I think a Gewehr 41(w) would be a great early-mid war semi-auto for the Germans. It should be recommended to be very limited, and, if possible to simulate, frequently jamms. It was still somewhat accurate and had relativley low recoil, so it should be appreciated, but a Schutze/Grenadier would easily swap it for an SVT38/40, not to mention a Gewehr/Kar 43. It could be an option weapon for Riflemen (Grenadieren) like the 2nd primary weapon choices from BF2. :) Keep up the good work FH2 Team! :p

Yeah, i like it, except for the jams. Weapons jams in a game are no fun, and certainly not in a battlefield kind of game.

Well, G41 saves the dignity of german semi-autos IMO. I hate hate hate hate the G43. G41 = Semi-auto K98! ^_^

Low priority Eastern Front weapon. In other words, we won't see it for a couple of years.

I remember somebody suggested this weapon a long time ago, like last year I mean. And one of the devs said that they will not forget that weapon and we will see it in the mod! But it wasn't direct like that - it was more like a hint. I'm gonna do a search..

only in RO is a G41 any good. the G43/K43 was the best semi-auto the Germans made in reality, the G41 was 100m less accurate than a real Karabiner 43 and also a lot less reliable. But yes, in Red Orchestra, they made the G41 has 25% more accuracy the a Gewher 43 and 50% more accuracy than an SVT40 by accident. G41 was just an OK rifle, but, when Germans faced the superior SVT40s, given the opporunity, they would choose the tokarev rifle. The Gewehr 41 was also used in North Africa, and a little in Italy when the Germans were in short-supply of the superior Gew43.

Yes, the G41 was pretty bad, and most german soldiers would have swapped it for a SVT. (I personally want to see the SVT-38, as the russians using it complained of the magazine falling off frequently, which would be very funny if you caught someone which just lost their magazine).

It would be nice for the germans to have a semi-auto in the desert, and not the G43 as most of the desert warfare takes place from 1941-2. But if it is going to be in FH2, there should be 2 firing modes; semi and bolt, as they made sure there was a bolt action mechanism incase the autoload failed.

good point about the G41 semi/bolt modes, except the G41 (w) did not have a bolt, only the G41 (m) did. the bolt was ther in case the G41 (m) jammed, wher as the G41 (w) would have other ways to fix, whihc i am uncertain of how. Also an SVT38 would be cool, and i agree on you with it alot. Maybe even an AVS 36 :D

I don't know if this weapon was used in the Afrika campaign ? but if so just make it as a pick up only class or even limiting it to one player through FH2's kit limiting system.

for those of th FH2 Team which may be reading this and wonder the same question about useage in Africa, here is some proof:;) http://www.lonesentry.com/articles/ttt07/german-semiautomatic-rifle.html 1st paragraph mentions: "Recent shipments of captured enemy ordnance equipment from North Africa included two specimens of the new German 7.92-mm (.312 in.) semi-automatic rifle, the G. 41" :D
