My suggestion is in some mission during night time you could have a Glider available. Example if you make Pegasus Bridge map which is very famous due to the glider landings there. You could use a few gliders for the british to land with. Their wings could break off if you go in contact with a hard object.

You could use the Waco CG-4 Waco CG-4 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia with another plane that carries it with a wire. The glider can cut loose the wire and can absail down.

PLEASE!! THIS WOULD BE AWESOME!

The devs already know about the horsa and waco gliders, and of Pegasus bridge, there was even a map for it in FH .7, plus there was a rudimentary "glider" kit in FH.7. I'm sure the devs will get a glider made, though I doubt the BF2 engine will allow the tail to break off while the rest of the glider remains intact.

The gliders worked quite well in FH1, they were certainly fun to use. Even more so with the FHT mods with the maps which necessitated the use of the gliders to get to the action, they were smashing fun to use and crash.

Myself, I hope there is some form of glider on some maps, be it plane released or not, but I doubt as to whether this will ever happen, more likely they'll end up like they did on the Pegasus map, that is to say statics.

The Waco is the American glider - at Pegasus Bridge the Horsa Gliders were used.

I personally don't think this would work. Even tho I'm not an FH2 Dev, I was thinking about a map like this, and honestly I don't think BF2 has big enough maps to simulate flying over the English Channel. Also if you made the map like Crete-style, my guess would be that you have to constantly turn and thus would throw off your landing.

I think that due to the limitations of the Battlefield 2 engine, we will see a FH2 Pegasus Bridge map that is a remake of the FH1 Version, with Horsa Gliders as statics. This would freakin' awesome, as that map was one of my favourites. :D

I liked the old pegasus... it's just that the germans was notified somehow before we as the allied even got started with the assault. I believe that's the bug in the system. It wouldn't work for sure to trust any public players to do the perfect landing on the same field over and over again. I doubt that :P Starting back on the ground is a must really or there's going to be alot of swearing and moaning in the global chat about the idiot pilot and the idiot who TK'd the other inside the glider etc etc. The usual when too many people are cramped up into a limited space!

Gliders are not very useful for gameplay. they add something ti the Atmosphere but they are not needed for Gameplay. We allready have a Glider, the onefrom FH1. you will for sure see it again as Static on some Maps.
