Ok. I know that they were in BF2 expansion. I know you can't use expansion stuff to a mod that doesn't require the expansion. However is there any possibility to code them in yourself so the code wouldn't be borrowed? I'm asking this because I think it would be really cool to have some rare pickupkit which could throw one for all to use.

Maybe I just have watched too many commando films :P . I just like the idea of the possibility to create ladders/climbing ropes and maybe even small bridges. Combat engineer? Oh I don't know :lookaround: .

yes you can use expantion stuff as long as you figure it out yourself: BF1918 has the bayonet code, DCX has the throwing knife code and niether require the expantion pack in which those features were introduced.

Grappling hooks would be best suited for maps like 'Point Du Hoc'. The only way for the US Rangers to proceed their mission was to scale high cliffs in order to advance deep into enemy territory and reach their objectives.

As far as I know they just got permission to use them just like FH got permission to use the french and italian playermodels and voicecommands from the expansion pack.
