Just to post #39. I like the idea of giving the hook to a certain (perhaps spawnable) class on maps with Gebirgsjäger, but one problem is that the hooks only stick on statics and not on the terrain, so you can only really use them to climb buildings and perhaps protruding rocks.

What happens when a hook is on a car, the guy is climbing halfway on it, and the car starts driving? I remember when I was on the BFPirates dev team, we couldn't have ladders on ships because the guy on the ladder would stay behind, which was a major problem because the most common way of boarding a ship (atleast in BFP1) was climbing up its side.

I haven't personally tried to use it on vehicles, but I'd assume it wouldn't stick on vehicles.

Both BF2:SF (i.e. Devil's Perch) and PR (i.e. Hills of Hamgyong) add such protruding rocks (statics) along the ridges of the mountains for the same effect and the hooks do stick to them, so the problem is solved through that way. :nodding:
