Im not a computer geek, and I know nothing about things like graphic cards and things like that. I was wondering if anyone could teach me some things about the computer (e.g on back of Bf1942, things like hard drive and processor, things like that, and teach me a bit) Thanx so much :) :) :)
Basically a Hard Drive is where all the memory of a computer is stored. A big magnetic disk that sits real close to the side of the computer's other stuff. A processor is basically a component that processes applications and stuff. Graphics cards are cards that improve or enhance the graphics of games or certain applications. Anything I forgot to mention?
Also to check your system specs click on you start menu then click on run and type in dxdiag and hit enter, there you will see your computer specs when it opens up and there are tabs for what your video and sound card are etc
I'd suggest you just use google and search for the information you need, because it's just alot easier that way
If you AIM'd me i'd be more than happy to answer any questions!
Thank you all SOOOO MUCH!!!! :nodding: :nodding: :nodding: This is Great :bows:
Scorpy, I did what you said, about the dxdiag, and i would like to know if I have a graphics card. It says 'chip' would that be it? soz I don't know? :uhoh:
You might be running an onboard gpu (on the motherboard itself). What does it say exactly in the Display tab under Device?
it says -
Name: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 Manufacturer: NVIDIA Chip Type: GeForce MX 440 DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC Approx. Total Memory: 64.0 MB Current Display Mode: 1024 X 768 (32 Bit) (60 Hz) Monitor: CM1772FS Hopefully thats good? :uhm:
It's not onboard, that's a seperate video card (which is good). Although, in my opinion, the MX series is poopoo. Definately upgrade if you can.
