AceSThe skins for FH2 of course will be top quality, but they will seem a bit blurred when you come very close to them. You can't improve this without increasing the pixel density (= size) of the textures ... But I think we will discuss an idea we already had for FH42 but never revealed: High Quality Texture Packs for High End Machines. Even in 42, you can clearly see a huge increase in quality when you install 2048x2048 instead of 1024x1024 skins. (tested on bombers and fighters)
AceS also says that this would be separate, so those of you that have low-end machines that can barely run FH as it currently is wouldn't have to worry. Also, this shouldn't interfere with Punkbuster because it is all texture changes. So, it should work in the same way that the FH realism patch works.
We will see if people demand the high quality pack... if so, we can get it done really quick.

With that final assurance that any delay it will add to 0.7 would be negligible, I ask: Do we demand it?

High quality texture pack is a great idea, would give visible graphics improvement to Forgotten Hope so I vote: YES. I haven't got 7800 gt, but my 6600 GT GS GLH should do the trick.

I'm all for it. I am getting a 7800GT, 2gb of RAM, AMD 3500+ processor, Seagate 7800 RPM 150 GB hardrive so I should be able to do it!

Although my rig is mid range at the most, besides it consting more time, I don´t really see a drawback of high texture packs.

Although I won´t be able to use them, I don´t see why other people shouldn´t be able to.

Isn't this same as setting your textures in game from LOW to HIGH? Anyways, since i got a new machine, i am all for it, but i really wish there was a "low texture pack" a year ago, when i was playing FH at 800x600 with everything turned off or low, and still getting 6-10 FPS on Arnhem.

I don't see why this is a big deal? Create the original texture in high resolution, save it for the high end textures pack, and then shrink it, resave it (thus decreasing the pixel-density), and release that for the low end textures pack

I'm voting yes not because I have a high end machine. but becuase I have a low end and it would be nice to keep my fps high with a low texture pack.

You make me sad.

I personally think that the FH texturers are high quality enough, but I have a really crappy computer. I see nothing wrong with this idea.
