These are my ideas to make this kit work better, and more realistically, in FH.

-Remove the mines from the kit. The gun and tripod are very heavy, and there is no way that one man could carry his MG, a tripod, a handgun, and four AT mines.

-When not deployed, show a folded up tripod on the guys back. This would replace the backback that he currently uses.

-Add the correct tripods. The German HMG models featured a small (either 2x or 4x) telescopic sight mounted to the tripod itself.

-The big one... Add a LMG capability! I've seen countless times 30cals firing using no tripod for support, rather just using a brick or some dirt. The Germans often would do this with their MGs during a squad advance. They would not even set up the bipod, just put it down on a log and fire. The reticule bloom should be very large in order to provide some incentive for setting up the tripod. or maybe even larger. You could use this if you need to suddenly drop down and fire, instead of waiting for the full kit to assemble.

telescopic sight: maybe NoseCam?

LMG capability: when prone crosshairs close pretty fast, but only to 90%. open up again fast too, but not too fast. should also be usable (USABLE) when crouched, as germans placed the barrel on the shoulder of another soldier and used the gun when standing.

what's making the guns over-powered in close combat is that the turning speed of the soldier is not limited. is there no way to limit it? so that full 360 deg turn would take twice the time compared to ordinary infantry (but turning speed in the not-body-turning area is the same)

Not sure about that last point...

Forgot to put this in the original post, and now I can't.

In order to access the LMG capibility, you must select the bi/tripod less machine gun as a seperate weapon in your menu.

And about how to access the telescopic sights, I was wondering if its possible to make it look somewhat like sniper scopes did in the first three installments of the Delta Force series. That is, you see through the scope in a picture-in-picture window.

i doubt that is possible, but i would be very pleased if it is - then we can get better looking snipers, and snipers that can use both iron sights and scope (side-mounted, or tunnel mounted scope). i have not heard of anything like it on the BF-engine, but then again - i'm not that familiar with it. on the movie from UT:Red Orchestra they show a sniper. the optics look awesom!
