I searched for this topic and I only found an old thread from April so I start a new one. My first..

Bombing the Reich would be much better if the allies airfield would dissappear and all planes of the allies spwan in the air. The same as the jap bomber in wake. So all the allies are airborne, big fleet of planes, all gunnerseats in the bombers are filled, direct airsupport from the fighters and no irritating take of while camped by enemy planes. Which couldn´t pass the channel and start strafing the leaving bombers anyway. This simulates more realistic the way it was, enemy bombers in formation protected by airplanes.

In this way the map will be filled of planes and much more fun. The aim of this map would be reached, even in a pubby.

An other thing which I find a bit odd is the way the bombers take damage. Maybe I am very wrong but I was in the believe the English bombers could quit take a heavy battering. I read stories of pilots returned home after bombing the reich with a plane filled with dead and wounded people, only 2 engines running, half of the tail blowen off but still landing safe at home?

Good idea, but there is this problem that people who spawn in a bomber that has a complete crew just fall to their death, resulting in a teamkill for the pilot.

How bout a bigger problem? After you successfully bomb all the factories, you have to land and kill all the ground forces...why? This leads to one german hiding on the corner of the map and running the time out...very annoying..

I suggested this before, and people told me that the problem was that allied bombers couldn't rearm. But that doesn't make sense; keep the existing airfield, say for the fighters, for rearming, and then spawn the bombers in the air. As for tks in the air, I reckon there are more caused by takeoff madness than that bug, which should be fixed in time anyway.

Oh, and lock out allied AA guns as well!

Yeah, spawn the bombers in the air and launch the fighters from the airfield.

Indeed you need to rearm... So only the airfield for the fighters and the bombers still spawn in the air, real high so the axis planes can't reach them easy.

It would be much more fun that way.

can you make parts of the map out of bounds for the axis (like the airfield) but keep it inbounds for the allies?

there aren't any, AFAIK. and the reason being - the allied forces are not inteded to land (bail) over german territory, denying the kill, but also killing the flak'er, and thus ruining the game.
