Well this is the question... In BF2 The Ingame map is a normally, no diferent to BF1942, but for Commander? The satelital map is not applicable to WWII My idea is a original WWII map simulation like this: Thumb_Sample_Map_2_100_percent.jpg Now I'm making a map for El Alamein, based in the old Bf1942 and FH ingamemap, but applying the characteristics of this map, like a cartography map handmade... and use old icons of infantry, tanks, planes, etc Do you like my Idea?? For a zooms commanders views, I think in a Binoculars view, like a Sniper target views, but with movement options... Bye. JAM Chile.

I agree that it would be much better seeing that they didn't have any spy sattelites back then. Supply drops and artillery strikes (if they will be in FH2 at all) should also only work when the commander confirms a request by a squadleader/officer.

I have an idea for supply drops actually. When the commander wants to drop the supplies, he hits the button, and the view switches to a C-47 or a Ju52, or whatever, and the commander must pilot said plane and drop the supplies with primary fire where the drop has been requested. Or my other idea is similiar, except rather than switching to a view of the plane, it just shows up as an icon on the commander's map screen, and he must guide it to the request location and hit primary fire to drop it. It would make some skill be required for the drops, and it would also make them less cheap, since enemies could shoot down the supply plane if they found it.

That'd be neat. If it's not impossible to code it's worth a try. There's still ways of making the supply plane 'shoot-down-able' while still having it autopiloted.

While at it, Uav could be remplaced by a spy plane that would would "spot" the way you spot in bf2 the stuff around there. Scan could be some kind of spy plane comming in the sector taking a picture and then that picture would stay static on commander screen... Just suggestions though

Ive stated a few times before that minimaps in FH2 will be hand drawn authentic looking maps, and that the commanders will not have satilite cameras, they have to work off the same map.

how about in staead of tanks and plane and infantry symbols you use little pins. light blue: fighter plane dark blue: bomber greens:tanks yellows:support vehicles browns:anything else these would be for the commander only, and would update position every 10 seconds or so.

I have an idea, could you possibly look into the option of only having spotted enemy vehicles showing up on the commander map? This would make the scout kits really usefull. And along with this, have it show the specific tank name. So that the commander can tell the difference between a Bren carrier and a King tiger.
