Hey, i was thinking about getting satellite broadband, until i read about latency and how it isnt that good for gaming. I've found a service that offers 2mb up and 0.5mb down. Will this be better than my current 56k, which is usually at 36kbs? (Sorry if this is the wrong board to ask in)

I'd say no, Upload is fine and dandy, if your running a server or do alot of sending, but for the normal internet user, Id say no. Id suggest Cable or DSL. Because for gaming and internet surfing satalite is no better then 56k

nah, just a old wives tale with satalites, they are very stable, if they are set up properly
