MazzSome of you guys need to learn some damn tactics. Christ man i took down a KT with a M10 on 318 with simple fire and manuver tactics. You guys need to stop thinking your unkillable in your nazi war machines and realize the only thing that will save you is your mind. **** all this whining about armor and start realizing theres more you can do then take the same path and get killed everytime by a tank THAT WAS DESIGNED TO FIGHT HEAD ON.
Here here, what comes to mind is WAW practice on Nancy with the 29th Schwere Abteilung. We had a Puma, Tiger, P4 and a Wespe being used like a Marder. This was back in the day when the Tiger was a rolling death warrant to other tanks. The allies would seriously kick butt on that map untill the Axis got their tactics down and knocked out every allied tank. Also there is another map that comes to mind. If I'm not mistaken its name was Caspian? Maybe....Anyway the Russians had to descend through a small valley where they were protected due to the steep walls being unclimbable. Well my mind went to work and I placed myself in a good position with a Pz4 F2 and picked off each and every one of the T-34's rolling out of the valley. In the end I knocked out a total of 49 T-34's. It just takes some thinking.
Kleenex you must know who i am with the reference to Pz but i forgot you.... Drunk right?
Anlushac11Hes talking about the fact that the RHA armor the US and Brits used was intended to accept the shell and as the heat and pressure from the shell penetrated it had the affect of tempering the metal in front of the shell so that as the shell penetrated farther the going got tougher.
Of course this works best against a round of similar thickness to the armor or a larger round of low velocity. Since most rounds fired at US and Brit tanks were 75mm or 88mm they had a tendancy to blow through the armor before enough hardeneing had occured. The Sherman Jumbo, The Churchill, and the Pershing had enough armor for it to work.
Uhm, IMO that's pretty optimistic thought, because steel only just get's hard when it's cooled down again or by being compressed while being cool.
The 13th RaptorPff, like the Firefly is so good. I was in the unfortunate positon to duel a Tiger tank on market garden around the church, i managed to flank it two times, hit it two times in the side, one time in the front (hit detection came up three times). And i didnt kill it, once it exploded it was because of some bunnyhopping satcheltosser :/
up to now in FH i never saw a tiger survive 2 shots in the side and an extra shot to the front from a firefly.

Yes...I was drunk.
QUIT BITCHING ABOUT THE JUMBO.
Its refreshing to go up against a tank that can stand its ground while on Axis. The Jumbo is nothing special at all, and if its removed then Axis vs Allied tanks will again be Tigers to Tetrarchs.
I will go on Sector 318 and get a screencap every time I toast a Jumbo. It happens a lot. They charge in thinking they are the bomb and can't be hurt, but any sort of side shots or track shots or back shots will destroyify the tank. The only vehicles on that map that can NOT kill the Jumbo are the Ostwind, the Vierling, Bofors40mm and the M18 Greyhound. Every other tank there can destroy it. You cant just sit back and fire retardedly into the thing, you have to flank it and hit it from behind (which is simply easy as hell if you are infantry) and its nothing more then 40 tons of scrap metal.
me = jumbo or 76mm sherman= terror on the battlefield, especially secoter 318!
