Lobo;4129557When I read: "hey, the real thing is too tough, make it easier" I want to kill a kitten

Then do it...

Back to the subject. The thing is to make a compromise between "reality" and usefullness. I'm really curious why gerrys made such sights...

Quite simply, you can't give an inch of ground in that regard. Before you know it, all hell will break loose. I've seen it in other games, and the end result is never good.

Von Mudra;4129578Considering the people on this board now, your going to have to wipe out entire cities of kittens

That made me entirely too sad to think about :(

That depends on which AK, and (most of all) the person shooting it.

I've explained this before. Because In RL you can zero in the sight Which means the target will always be at the tip of the sight when zeroed right. and by having a point rater than a cross it means you don't have anything blocking the actual aiming point. Less obstructed view of target than with the typical crosshairs believe it or not.

Sorry Lobo but I strongly disagree. On the real thing you can adjust the sights, as long as you can't do that in FH2 it's not "the real thing".

The K98 scope markings perform very badly with BF2's fixed optics - this is a fact. If we want to discuss about realism, I suppose that if in RL German snipers were issued the fixed-scope K98 we have in FH2, they would have asked to have the scope mounted reversed (top-down), like Coca-Cola suggested.

So, there are 3 possible solutions IMO: - keep the current scope markings but adjust them in some way (reverse mount, make transparent, whatever) - add some (limited) way to adjust sights/zero in (no idea if it's possible in BF2, but in BF42 you could have say 3 different sniper handweapons, each with the sights zeroed to a different distance) - if the Germans also used other kinds of scope markings better suited to BF2's limitations, use them instead

Even without zeroing I'd rather keep it that way. I wouldn't get used to having it upside down or semi transparent.

Sure not being able to zero is not realistic, but lets not make it worse by changing the sights even more. If we are going to change it might est well put on laser sights....

Well there's a man with a know how.
