Heard it was used by royal navy (1940 to 60)
Better than the sten, but costed more.
Could be fun for a debarquement map or something in the lines of it heh...

(found other websites but this one resumes it well) Searched for it, but there was only ONE brieve mension of it in a 2003 post so I figured...:lookaround:
Would be fun for fh2
50 round box anyone?
edit: woops... when I searched for it I typed lanchaster... (which only brought one result)
So the sten was inferior compared to the mp28 AND mp40? Those poor brits..
I wouldnt mind seeing it ingame, if enough were produced..
Sten was cheaper to make and easier, this thing costed a lot and well... long to produce (thompson anyone)
Lanchester is direct copy of the bergman mp28 with a british bayonet lug.
if we end up making the mp28 sometime, there will probly be some lanchesters.
Anything that looks like it could be made with household tools and scrap metal can't be a decent weapon.
Gunsmithing rule number 4.
If remember correctly, the only SMG's the Brits had in stock at the begining of the war were Lanchesters and some Thompsons.I think that the MP28 looks enough like the MP18 so you could just bum the model off of the chaps at BF1918. Of course someone will find that the MP28 actually has three more holes than the MP18 and will flame me for it, but I'm willing to take the risk.
I pretend I'm cooler than AzH

the owen smg was very good smg and the prototype was made in a backyard (i think). also the .50 cal. machine gun has been uses for about 50 years now and its a pretty simple disign. but now the army wants to replace it with this high tech pieace of junk. :( http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg39-e.htm

Sounds like the Japanese government, during WWII. For whatever reason they didn't like smgs and just didn't start producing their own to counter the thompsons and the like until it was too late.
