Alright, many a time have i tried using mines to channel/block the enemy's path to my teams assets. Let it be huge minefields with the apc's, or a few well-placed mines from mg-kits. However, you all know the danger that comes with placing mines, team-mates, having the skill to snipe some-one with a rifle from 800 meters away, often do not notice mines OR the huge warning sign on the screen and run over them with jeeps and/or even the "fast" tanks.. then go "wtf!?!". And.. thats right,and they dont ftk because they are pissed. My suggestion is, remove the +1/-2 that comes with a kill/teamkill from mines.(or even just the -2 :naughty: ) So that they basicly dont award points at all, if that is not possible. Make the mines simply cause a "M1nefieldnub is no more" kinda deaths. A good minefield can turn the tide of a game, loads of tanks have been stopped/destroyed on El Al, and gazala by mines.. Mines should have a bigger role in the game.. but currently people are discouraged from using them because team-mates will _always_ drive over mines no matter the warnings you give. People that place minefields generally do not care about their score, so i think this would be a good thing to put in FH. So that people that take the time to place a minefield and stop the enemy's advance for half a game do not get rewarded with a - score. and end up getting kicked because they couldnt get out of position to frag some people/cap flags. I prefer the "no points for a mine kill" way of doing this, so that people still get to know who killed them. Anyways.. feedback?

I agree. No points is better than minus points. I rate a low score higher than a kick/ban.

Can it be done? I guess a landmine would need to be made a neutral object.

Would be nice. Play EoD? You know Hastings? Well, here is an uplifting story for the minelayer! I had just laid mines on the road that led up to our (US) base that is located in the mountains. A GP came screaming down the road at full speed. I got out of my M60 (the tank, not the gun) and stood in the middle of the road. I walked over to the side of the car like one would do in real life, and told him of the location of the mines. He said alright, drove on, and stayed alive! Better yet, the T-54 soon arrived, but I never saw it. [11PzG] USMA2010 [mines] Blind Tanker [11PzG] USMA2010 [mines] Person dumb enough to ride with blind tanker Flying Human is no more. (I'm guessing he was a TDI on the back of the T-54, who flew off the cliff when the tank rolled over the mine).

Agreed. Btw the mine warning sign DOES NOT come up for APC mines, those are visual only.

I'm not sure that mines are removeable. I say no, for that reason. It needs to make people think twice about mine laying. Engineer satchels should be able to destroy huge chunks of the mine field, though.

On Kesserine Pass I use the minelayer to protect the main approaches to the various bases. The persistance of those mines is incredible. I had laid a number of mines, and a variety of teammates ignored my warnings and blew themselves to kingdom come. Then I got kicked for negative score.

Needless to say I reconnected, and I was placed on the opposing team. Evidently the mines I had laid previously were still there as one of my new teammates drove over them, and I started my trek into negative numbers once again.

Maybe there needs to be a deployable sign that you can place by your mindfield to warn teammates? :)

agree, no tk/no point seems like a good way to go

it would also be cool to equip the engineers/sappers with mine flags (60cm long metal sticks, 1mm diam, and a small triangular yellow flag on top, with a skull). they could get for instance 10-20 of them. if for instance if the mines are placed around a corner, a couple of flags could be put on the friendly side, or on the friendly side of a bridge, or when you detect (enemy) mines, and do not have time to fix them all, etc (see attachment)

Not a bad idea, this flag would have that mine warning radius just like friendly mines do now. This would warn of friendly mine fields and of observed enemy ones.
