Back on topic, well if the one I saw was an LCM, why would this be called Landing Craft Vehicle Personel? I think LCI is the one you're looking for. Either way they should hold 30 infantryman minimum and have walls about 2 feet over the player's heads.

And they need a freaking steel ramp that is impervious to small arms fire. The LCVP was made of wood, but the ramp was definitely steel plate. That was what protected the men from bullets before it was lowered. Even large bullets, say from a .50 cal, could not penetrate that front plate. An MG42 should certainly should not be able to fire a burst at a landing craft and cause it to explode, killing everyone.

Yeah make em only get damage from, shells, torpedos, rockets, and mines, small arms fire should not harm an LVCP, or any landing craft.

The LCVP is the Higgins boat we all know from the D-Day map. Its amx load was I want to say about 9000lbs. So it could carry heavier things like a jeep or a 3/4 ton weapons carrier but tanks were too heavy.

The LCM was made in several models. One was almost identical to a Higgins boat except made of metal for extra strength to handle hevy vehicles like tanks.

A larger version with a armored wheelhouse was made and was a bit larger and longer and could handle more weight.

IIRC the LCT would be next.

LCI is a boat that was as small as a Corvette, had very shallow draft, and looks similar to a minesweeper and has ramps on either side of the bow which was lowered to offload troops.

You guys get my point anyway, larger landing craft with higher walls, and make them impervious to MG fire. Make the German arty useful on D-Day maps.

Yea. There has been many accounts of 88's and what have you completely zeroed in on incoming LC's. The instant they dropped the door, BOOM, everyone dead. That or simply nailing them while they were at sea.

The first landing craft at Dog Green was instantly destroyed by artillery. The second was hit heavy by MG fire once the ramp dropped, half the boat was killed.
