yeah, kursk has churchills, or maybe they are cromwells. but a p-39 would be awsome, esp for maps like valirisk and kharakov where you have a lot of tanks.

USMA2010, contrary to popular myth P39's were hardly used as tank busters, they had IL2's for that. Even the Yak9T was hardly used for tank busting despite its sole purpose was to be a tank buster. Most VVS P39's had all there armour removed so they could manouver better;)

The lend lease P39's were pretty much the same as the initial US versions. Many of the first P39 400's and N1's were actually destined for the UK but infact shipped to the USSR. The P39Q's were mainly for the USSR only as the designers took VVS pilots requests and adapted the plane (mainly removing armour and the 0.50's in the wings and changing the spin characteristics as early P39's could flat spin with little warning). They were so serious about meeting the VVS demands that the P63 was built and the VVS pilots loved it!

Not sure about the differences of the P40's but the VVS pilots did not like them, they were under powered and slow to climb. They even put there own engines in them but traded them up for P39's, Yaks and Lavochkins.

The VVS Spitfires were pretty much standard VB's and IXe's but I think the IX's only had merlin 61's and the fuel in the USSR was very poor.

[Rant] I think before the FH devs do a VVS skinned spitfire they should at least get the model right. Currently the Spitfire models is a hash of a XIV, Rounded tail pre-44 design and 3 bladed prop. Its a crime I tell you! Sorry, I don't like to whine but its a rubbish model (sorry lobo but it is) thats about as accurate as an arrow with no flights attached. Considering its the greatest point defense interceptor of all time and pretty much the backbone of RAF fighter command in WW2, flown by virtually every ally extensivly (I think only Mexico didn't use them) please get at least 1 version right. [/rant]

damn, where have you been?! at least in il2:fb, i am able to take out any armor up to a panther with that damn gun. but only 1 or 2, then no more ammo. if not a p39, then for god sakes the Il2 3m with the dual 37mm cannon. that sob can even get tigers if he dont go for the front.

It was used to take on armour but it was in great demand from frontline fighter units. They were provided to units made from experainced pilots at first as when the USSR got them they were a step above any other lend lease plane.

You need to get a real mans plane to BnZ in, the P47D-27:) The BnZ plane.
