Ok , sinxce i just made a thread about armored xcars, i thought about armored trains( note i love trains) so i thought how bout making a map that an armored train would have to get across the map turnign around and around the map threw every turn, more or less it would be a german armored train, or maybe russian? if it were a german train plus i thought that the 88 should be like the flak 77 from bf1918 it resembles it in some ways. back on my main topic, so the train would have armored cannon cars, tanks and ammo on flat bed cars, box carss, maybe some passanger cars for the infantry? some AA cars etc with maybe 2 loco's o one? the enmy would have 1-2 planes. a set of tanks emplacmented a.t. guns and in front of the steam engine would be an AA gun/A.T. car protected by sand bags etc. if you played MoH frontlines level rolling thunder that would be the idea.

Sounds like an interesting idea for BF2. Trains could play a major part in FH2.

I agree. I played that MoH level, and it was THE most realistic WWII armored train i could think of. It had like, a flatbed car with some 50 guys on it, a passenger car, a sleeping car, a hospital car, and an armored car at the end of the train with two small guns on top(75mm i would guess). And, if in BF2, its possible to detatch different cars from eachother, well.......say the enemy's jumped on the last 2 cars and captured them. You cut them loose and youre back to normal. This would create a cool feeling of being slowly pushed back, like the war was after 1942 for the germans. Imagine: 50 soldiers are crammed into the flatbed car, and the engine/tender, (the only cars left) outfitted with full and useless gear, making it hard to move. An Allied p-47 comes screaming in, MGs blazing. atleast half your crammed soldiers are killed in the first pass. Then that jabo drops his bombs and most of the car is ripped away. Meanwhile an Allied train has crept up alongside yours, and is firing MGs and cannon alike. The engine crew is wounded, and he holes your boiler. slowly the train creeps to a stop, and the only survivers are the guys who were loading coal into the boiler. They are taken prisoner. No one else is alive. Kinda unbalanced for th germans, but it really shows the idea: The germans are reatreating rapidly, and wounded are pushed aboard all availible vehicles. It gives you the OW!, that must have hurt! feeling alot.

Lol ? :D two trains going side by side? sound preety hollywoodish...

I rather like that way Germans got to the train, with AA, AT, Spawn wagons, plus theres 3 fuel Cisterns in the train that Allies got to destroy

The train must Arrive to the factory station, when he does that the vehicles will appear (simulating the fuel arrival) and the whole factory will become German's main base ...the allies start on the way of the tracks ...they can also destroy bridges (the germans have to stop and defend the train till new bridge spawns)

Allies got one p-47, crapload of trucks and jeeps and few staghounds, the germans will have motorcycles,kubelwagens on a flatbed wagon from wich they can drive off :) When they rech the factory, 2-4 panzers will spawn :)

Theres no parachutes to prevent one man army capping the main base of germans :))

Yeah...it's not possible...but it was fun to write it :)

uhmm....That is just a bad idea...I mean the two trains going side by side... I want to see Russian armoured trains...seeing as those were used the most...and several of them were taken out by the Luftwaffe..

That sounds like complete bullcrap which is only avelible on a arcadish game like MoH... well...the whole idea doesnt sounds like it well suited for a 64 player server... And the time for a train to cross a map (even a FH2 one) would be like maximum 2-3 minutes... But the whole idea with trains sounds good in some ways. Maybe have a train spawn on a railwaytrack near the end of a map near a flag. Then it wouldnt be too useless, and on the other hand, not having a circle of track in the middle of the map which would cause lots of "fun" moments...

no but the train would have to go in and out off all the grid cordinates, and i just came up with an idea, how bout the trains needs to makes several stops along the way, to pick up more men, ammo, supplis etc, then when it reaches the end mission is complete. so when the trains stops the allies have time to stop the train but most hits are needed on the engine. but you could kill cars off, and then they would be loss of supplies and when you reach the end of the line youll need this much to win if not you lose. but say if its like and end car, or a middle car then it sold be able to be decopled and com to a halt in some time, the train can go max on striaghts but needs to slow on the turns by the player (note that a player would be driving) and if he does not slow then the train derails like there should be a speed-domiter wiht the speed and there would be inportant signs tell which speed is appropriate. while the trains is moving it should come across allied tanks and and allied bunkers. infantry, due to bf2 able to shoot threw walls the passanger cars wih the infantry could be shot up eh?. ok if youi lose a train car then at the next stop youll need to go on a sighting switch rails and pick up more cars. but the allied soldeirs could board the trains carss on the sighting and wait to come aboard, then the could plant explosivs on board movinf form car to car. thats where passanger cars come in, the infantry spawn there and when enemy are aboard they must stop them from reaching the loco or tender as the cars are destroyed thats where the dis connecting comes in. then you need to reconnect new ones. if the tender or the engine is hit so many times then the game is lost. this could be the same for the axis and soviets and visa-versa. if there is a bridge, make it killable but then it will respawn ion about 5-7 mins but if train goes over and crashes its lost. um.......also instead of trains just stopping like takns and vehicals in bf1942 can jst stop. the trains should have time to slow down. i mean we are talkig about haevy armored trains here and there steam locos. also if a man decides to pull an emeregency brake stop then the enginer would be noticfied and then he has the power to throw the E brake on and have the trains wheels more or less lock, and then you see sparks and ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. the screaming sound of the wheels on metal on top of metal.. etc but say he does not ok then Lol. i have more ideas coming up on this. if a tank sits on the tracks it should do some damage but not alot to sabve the gameplay.

sry if theres any spelling errors...=[ this is cool for a map io think but it would take tons of work what do you gusy think?
